Manage tags and custom fields
Create, rename and delete qualification tags and custom fields in a Skipcall workspace, and see where they show up across the app.
Updated on October 27, 2026
Tags and custom fields are managed per workspace, in Configuration > Tags and Configuration > Custom fields. Each workspace has its own.
Tags
A tag is a qualification label you put on contacts, for example “Call back”.
Create a tag
- Click Configuration in the left menu.
- Open the Tags tab.
- Click Add a tag.
- Type the Tag name.
- Confirm with the check mark (or cancel with the X).
The list is sorted alphabetically and has a search box.
Rename or delete a tag
- Use the pencil icon to rename a tag.
- Use the trash icon to delete it. The app asks you to confirm: “Delete the tag “[name]”? This tag will also be removed from every contact that has it. This action can’t be undone.”
Custom fields
A custom field is an extra piece of data added to every contact in the workspace (for example an industry, a customer ID or a lead source).
Create a field
- Click Configuration in the left menu.
- Open the Custom fields tab.
- Click Add a field.
- Type the Custom field name (the name is all you need, as free text).
- Confirm.
You can also create a field during a CSV import, with the New + button at the column matching step. See Import contacts from a CSV file.
Edit or delete a field
The list has a search box, sorting by Field name and, for each field, a pencil icon (edit) and a trash icon (delete).
Where custom fields show up
Once created, a field is available:
- on the contact record, in Edit mode
- when matching columns during a CSV import
- in the columns and filters of Contacts and of sequences
- in the list of variables for text message templates
FAQ
My tags and fields don’t show up in another workspace
That’s expected: each workspace has its own tags and custom fields. Create them in the other workspace as well.
What happens to contacts when I delete a tag?
The tag is removed from every contact that has it. Deleting a tag can’t be undone.
