Understand call statuses
Connected, Voicemail, Missed, Country errors: what each call status means and how it maps to the Call status filter in your sequences.
Updated on October 27, 2026
Every call gets a status that describes how it ended: a conversation, voicemail, a busy line, an error, and so on. Statuses show up in Analytics and work as a filter in your sequences, with slightly different labels on each screen.
What each status means
In Analytics, click the ⓘ icon on the Call statistics block to open the Status definitions window. Here are the definitions the app shows:
| Status (Analytics) | What it means |
|---|---|
| Connected | You were put through and the conversation took place. |
| Voicemail | The call reached a voicemail box. |
| Busy | The line was busy and voicemail wasn’t reached. |
| No answer | The call rang with no answer. |
| Missed | An inbound call the rep didn’t pick up in time. |
| Canceled | Hung up while ringing, before the conversation started. |
| Number errors | The number is invalid or unreachable. |
| Country errors | The country isn’t allowed for your calls. |
| Failed calls | A technical error prevented the call. |
Statuses in a sequence filter
Inside a sequence, the Call status quick filter uses its own labels: No status, Connected, Voicemail, Busy, No answer, Missed call, Canceled, Invalid number, and Error, plus Clear to remove the filter.
Here’s how they line up with the Analytics statuses:
| Analytics | Call status filter |
|---|---|
| Connected | Connected |
| Voicemail | Voicemail |
| Busy | Busy |
| No answer | No answer |
| Missed | Missed call |
| Canceled | Canceled |
| Number errors | Invalid number |
| Failed calls | Error (normally) |
| Country errors | no matching value |
No status groups the contacts in the sequence that haven’t received any call status yet, meaning they haven’t been called.
Use the filter
- Open Sequences, then the sequence you want.
- Above the contacts table, click Call status.
- Pick a status, for example No answer to find the contacts to call back.
- To see the full list again, click Clear in the filter, or Clear all on the Active filters line.
FAQ
What’s the difference between Missed and No answer?
Missed covers inbound calls you didn’t pick up. No answer covers your outbound calls that rang without the other person picking up.
What should I do about Number errors?
The number is invalid or unreachable. Open the contact record, check the number and its country code, then fix it with Edit. Always enter numbers in international format (for example +14155550123).
What does Country errors mean?
The destination country isn’t allowed for your calls. First, check that the number is in international format. The list of allowed countries isn’t visible in the app, so reach out to the Skipcall team through the chat to find out which countries are open.
Many of my calls end up as Failed calls
A technical error prevented the call. Check service status at status.skipcall.io. If it keeps happening, contact the Skipcall team through the chat and include the time of the affected calls.
Where can I see my calls broken down by status?
In the Analytics dashboard: the colored bar in the Call statistics block shows the number of calls for each status. A sequence’s Statistics button gives you the same view for that sequence only.
