Recordings and AI
Listen to your call recordings
Find your recorded calls in the Recordings menu: filter by member or sequence, play the audio, and read the AI summary and transcript of each call.
Updated on October 27, 2026
The Recordings menu brings together your workspace’s recorded calls, each with its audio, an AI-written summary, and the transcript. It’s handy for coaching, picking up an account, or double-checking what was agreed with a customer.
Turn on call recording
Recording is set workspace by workspace:
- From the workspace you want, click Configuration in the left menu.
- Open the Permissions tab.
- Turn on Enable recordings.
The Permissions tab is only available through the Configuration button in the left menu, from inside the workspace itself (not from the “All my workspaces” view).
The recordings list
In the left menu, click Recordings. Each row shows:
- Contact and Date (both sortable);
- Member: the member on the call;
- Tags, Company, and Sequence;
- Direction (Outbound or Inbound) and Duration.
The Columns button lets you pick which columns are shown.
Filter and search
The search field accepts a name, a phone number, and more. The Filters button offers Date, Sequence name, Duration, Tag name, and Member.
For example, to listen to one rep’s calls on a sequence: Filters > Member, then Sequence name. Only recorded calls appear here; for call volumes and statuses, use the Statistics page instead. See Analytics dashboard.
Recording details
Click a row to open Recording details:
| Section | What’s in it |
|---|---|
| Audio recording | Duration, playback bar, Stop, Play, and Restart buttons, and a playback counter. |
| Call summary | A few sentences written by AI, with a Copy summary button. |
| Call transcript | An expandable section with the full text and a copy button. |
| Contact record | The Information, Tasks, Sequences, Calls, and Notes tabs, so you can act without leaving the screen. |
The summary and transcript are covered in AI summary and call transcript.
FAQ
My calls aren’t being recorded
Check that Enable recordings is on under Configuration > Permissions for the workspace. The setting is per workspace: if you have several, check the one where the calls were made.
Are calls that hit voicemail recorded too?
Yes. Their summary then describes the voicemail greeting, which is expected.
Can I delete a recording?
When you check one or more rows (or Select all), the selection bar shows a Delete button. If you have any questions about deleting recordings, reach out to the Skipcall team through the chat before using it.
Do I need to tell the people I call that they’re being recorded?
Turning on recording is your company’s choice, workspace by workspace. For any legal question about informing the people you call, reach out to the Skipcall team through the chat.
Where do I find the recording of a call from the call log?
In the Recordings menu, which holds the audio, AI summary, and transcript. See also Call log.
