Sequences and dialer

Sequence call settings

Pick your caller number, the number of simultaneous calls, and the automatic voicemail drop and text message in a sequence's Call settings panel.

Updated on October 27, 2026

Every sequence has a Call settings panel right above its contact table. This is where you choose the number people see when you call, how many calls run at once, and two automations for unanswered calls.

To open it: left menu > Sequences > click the sequence name.

What’s in the panel

SettingWhat it does
Your numberThe Skipcall number shown to the people you call. The list shows the numbers assigned to you.
Simultaneous calls1, 2, 3, or 4 calls. At 1, that’s the power dialer; from 2 to 4, it’s the parallel dialer.
Voicemail if answering machineA pre-recorded voice clip, dropped automatically on answering machines.
SMS if answering machineA text message template sent automatically.
Headset buttonQuick settings for your Microphone (with Test) and Speaker (with Play).

If the Your number list is empty, no number is assigned to you yet: see Phone numbers. To choose between 1 and 4 calls, see Power dialer and parallel dialer.

Record a voicemail for answering machines

  1. Under Voicemail if answering machine, click Add a new message.
  2. Pick your microphone from the list under the button.
  3. Click the green microphone (or press the space bar) and speak: 30 seconds max.
  4. Already have a file? Drag it into the drop zone or click browse: mp3 or wav, up to 10 MB.
  5. Listen back, give the message a name, then click Add clip.
  6. Make sure it’s selected under Voicemail if answering machine.

The tooltip spells out the cost: each voicemail left on an answering machine uses 1 credit.

Create an automatic text message template

  1. Under SMS if answering machine, click Add a new template.
  2. Enter a Template name (for example, “Follow-up text”).
  3. Write the Message content.
  4. To personalize it, type / or click See properties, then pick a property (First name, Last name, Company, Job title, City, custom fields, and more). It’s inserted as a variable, for example {{firstName}} for the first name.
  5. Check the Preview on the right, which shows the text with sample data.
  6. Keep an eye on the “N characters · N SMS” counter under the message.
  7. Click Save, then select the template under SMS if answering machine.

The tooltip explains that this template is sent when nobody answers, at 1 credit per segment.

Where to track automation usage

Voicemail drops and automatic texts count against your license’s automation counter. The tooltips show that counter (for example, “License 0/100”). You’ll also find it under Settings > Usage, and you can buy extra automation credits under Settings > Credits. See Credits and Plans and quotas.

See who received a message

In the sequence, click Filters and choose Voicemail dropped or SMS sent (or Content of voicemail dropped / Content of SMS sent).
