How Skipcall works: organization, workspaces, members
Organization, workspaces, members, licenses and phone numbers: the core Skipcall concepts and where to manage each one in the app.
Updated on October 27, 2026
Skipcall is a sales phone system: business phone numbers, calls from your browser or phone, text messages, voicemail, and an automatic dialer (power dialer and parallel dialer with up to 4 simultaneous calls) driven by sequences. Everything lives inside an organization that contains one or more workspaces.
The three levels
Organization
This is your company. It holds the billing details (company name, tax IDs, address, billing email), licenses, credits, invoices, API keys and every member.
You manage it from the profile menu (your name, bottom left) > Settings.
Workspace
A workspace is a team or a line of business. Each workspace has its own tags, custom fields, CRM integrations, phone numbers, members and permissions. It’s where the day-to-day work happens: contacts, sequences, tasks, calls, text messages, voicemail, recordings and analytics.
You manage it from the Configuration button in the left menu. To switch workspaces, use the selector at the top of the left menu.
Member
A member is a user invited to the organization. Each member has:
- an organization role: Admin, Member or Manager
- in each workspace they can access, a workspace role (Admin or Member), which can be different
- a license, or No license
- access to zero, one or several workspaces
Key concepts
License
A license is a paid seat assigned to a member. There are four plans: VOIP, STARTER, INTERMEDIATE and EXPERT. Each license has its own quotas (conversations, text messages, automations), shown for the current billing cycle. A member without a license shows as Deactivated in Settings > Members. Plan details are on the pricing page and in Settings > Licenses.
Skipcall number
A phone number provided by Skipcall, linked to a workspace and assigned to a member. It’s used as the caller ID; normally, it’s also the number where that member receives calls, text messages and voicemails. See Phone numbers.
Contact
A person’s record: first name, last name, one or more phone numbers, email, company, job title, city, country, LinkedIn, custom fields, tags, notes, tasks and call history.
Sequence
A call list assigned to one or more members. Its Call settings define the caller number, the number of simultaneous calls (1 to 4) and the automations: Voicemail if no answer and Text if no answer.
Tags and custom fields
A tag is a qualification label you put on contacts (for example “Call back”). The built-in Lead tag, marked with a crown, can’t be renamed or deleted. A custom field is an extra piece of data added to every contact in the workspace. See Tags and custom fields.
Task
A dated reminder: title, notes, date and time, owner and linked contacts.
Credit
A prepaid unit you buy on top of your license quotas, in Settings > Credits: connected calls, text messages, enrichment and automations.
