A voicemail or a text message as soon as a call goes unanswered
The Skipcall voicemail drop is the automatic sending of a pre-recorded voicemail or a text message when a call goes unanswered. Every call leaves a point of contact rather than an anonymous trace.
Hundreds of companies use to make every call pay off
Most of your calls obtain no answer, and leave no trace of themselves
The connection rate stands at around 8% with parallel dialling, and at 2 to 3% with sequential dialling. The very great majority of the calls placed therefore obtain no answer, and end on a voicemail that the sales representative listens to before hanging up.
On the contact's side, all that remains is a call trace from an unknown number: no reason to call back, no context, no identification of the company. The work has been done, without producing the slightest point of contact.
A call that goes unanswered becomes a point of contact
Once detection establishes that the contact is not answering, the channel chosen for the campaign goes out automatically: the voicemail you recorded, or a text message from your business number. The sales representative moves on to the next call while it is sent, and the send is recorded on the same footing as a connected call.
How a session unfolds
Your messages are recorded from your workspace, in as many versions as you need: one per campaign, per offer or per segment. They remain available to the whole team.
Filtering by artificial intelligence already identifies the absence of an answer and the voicemail systems it reaches, with 95% accuracy announced. That detection was already there: what changes is what it sets off.
Where the call used to end leaving nothing behind, the recorded message is delivered of its own accord. The sales representative has nothing to trigger and nothing to say, and moves on to the next call while delivery takes place.
Each campaign determines the channel: the recorded voicemail, or a text message sent from your business number. In both cases your contact is left with an identified number and a reason for the call, instead of an anonymous call trace.
The message left and the text sent join the contact record, alongside calls and transcripts, and then your CRM. You know who was reached, with which message and on which date.
What becomes of a call that goes unanswered
The connection rates quoted are the ones Skipcall publishes for parallel dialling and for sequential dialling.
What this feature brings to your organisation
The published connection rate stands at around 8% with parallel dialling, and at 2 to 3% with sequential dialling. The bulk of calls therefore obtain no answer and leave nothing behind. These are the calls that the automatic drop turns into a point of contact.
A call trace from an unknown number prompts no call back, or sends it to a line nobody follows. An identified voicemail, or a text message sent from your business number, directs the return call to the team, with the history already attached to the record.
A message repeated several dozen times degrades: it gets shorter, it loses its point, and it varies from one representative to another. A message recorded once remains identical from the first call to the last, and its content is your decision.
Dictating a message takes twenty to thirty seconds, multiplied by the number of unanswered calls in a session. That time is not reinvested in more messages: it goes into calls that stand a chance of connecting.
A two hour session on a list of 200 accounts results in a handful of conversations. The other calls go unanswered and, until now, existed only in the activity statistics.
With the automatic drop, each of those calls leaves the message chosen for the campaign, spoken or written. The return calls that follow reach the company number, and concern contacts whose record already states what was communicated to them.
The drop rests on the detection built into the parallel dialer and the power dialer, and the written channel on the SMS messaging.

Frequently asked questions
Is the automatic drop available today? +
Yes. You switch it on from your workspace, campaign by campaign, and it rests on the AI detection of unanswered calls already in place on the power dialer and the parallel dialer.
Does the contact's phone ring? +
Yes. The call is placed normally, and the drop only takes place once it has been established that the contact is not answering. This is not about leaving a message without making the line ring, a practice whose lawfulness is contested in several countries.
How many messages can be recorded? +
As many as you need. The value lies precisely in preparing several versions, one per campaign, per offer or per segment, rather than a single message poorly suited to part of the calls.
Does the representative have to wait for delivery to finish? +
No. Delivery continues while they move on to the next call. That is what separates an automatic drop from a dictated message, which ties up both the line and the representative.
Voicemail or text message, how is the choice made? +
It is set per campaign. The drop uses either the recorded voicemail or a text message: the two channels are an alternative, one does not lead to the other.
What becomes of these sends in the CRM? +
The send, spoken or written, joins the contact record alongside calls, transcripts and summaries, and then flows into HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce or Attio like the rest of your activity.
Is this lawful in the United Kingdom? +
Business to business prospecting remains possible, subject to the rules that govern the processing of personal data: a documented lawful basis, information given to the people concerned, and the right to object respected. Under PECR and the UK GDPR, marketing calls and texts to individuals require their prior consent, and calls must respect the Telephone Preference Service, as corporate subscribers must respect the CTPS. The Information Commissioner's Office is the authority that supervises these rules. The message left identifies the company sending it and states how to stop being contacted.
Does Skipcall speak in place of my sales representatives? +
No. The message left is the one you recorded, in your own voice. Skipcall has no voice agent: artificial intelligence establishes the absence of an answer and sets off delivery, it holds no conversation.
