Aircall alternatives: 8 solutions compared (2026)
This page brings together what a decision maker needs before choosing: who Aircall is and how solid the company is, what its users actually say, where the data is hosted, the real cost of entry, and what to check if you are considering a switch.
Key points
- Aircall is a French company founded in Paris in 2014, valued at more than a billion dollars since 2021 and claiming over 23,000 customers.
- It scores 4.4 out of 5 on G2 but 2.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot. The gap comes down to what the complaints are about: users like the product, they like the commercial relationship far less.
- Aircall offers no parallel dialler on any plan. Its power dialler calls one number at a time and is only available from the Professional plan upwards.
- A minimum of three licences pushes the real entry price to $90 per month, not the $30 advertised.
- Call recordings are hosted by default on AWS servers in the United States for accounts created before May 2022.
The 8 solutions at a glance
Eight vendors compete in this market, with positionings that have nothing in common. Telling them apart stops you comparing a switchboard with a prospecting dialler.
Who sits where
Two families of tools, and one platform that covers both
Telephony
Ringover
Aircall
CloudTalk
Prospecting
JustCall
Nooks
Orum
Flunter
Minari
The market splits into two families. On the left, business telephony: Aircall, Ringover, CloudTalk. On the right, prospecting diallers: Nooks and Orum for the American market, Flunter and Minari in France.
Skipcall spans both. The same platform equips prospecting teams with the four line parallel dialler, and every other employee who simply needs a handset (management, admin, customer service) with a line at €15 per month. So you never have to run one operator for the company and a separate dialler for the sales team, with two contracts, two invoices and two directories.
Business telephony · Parallel dialler 4 lines
Four line parallel dialling for the people who prospect, and full telephony for every other desk, in the same subscription: business number, inbound calls, voicemail, SMS, mobile and web apps, call sequences, contacts, transcription and call summary. From €15 per licence, with no minimum.
Cloud business telephony · Power dialler, one number at a time, Professional plan
Solid on inbound calls and the switchboard. Three licences minimum, transcription as an add-on.
Cloud business telephony · Sequential dialling
Scope close to Aircall's. The parallel dialler is not available in France.
Call centre software · Preview, power and parallel dialler as add-ons
Coverage of more than 160 countries. Aimed at contact centres more than at prospecting.
Multichannel communication platform · Power, dynamic and predictive dialler
Very wide scope, more than 100 integrations. That breadth is paid for in complexity.
Parallel dialler for large teams · Parallel dialler with a virtual sales floor
Built for large American teams. Pricing on request.
Parallel dialler for large teams · Parallel dialler with up to 10 lines
The highest line count on the market. Pricing on request.
Parallel dialler · Parallel dialler with up to 5 lines
The same dialling engine as Skipcall, with a narrower functional scope.
Parallel dialler · Parallel dialler with up to 5 lines
The same promise as Skipcall, built on a different product logic.
Who Aircall is
Aircall is a French vendor of cloud business telephony, founded in Paris in 2014 and now run from a dual headquarters in Paris and New York. The company has raised $225.8 million over six rounds, including $120 million in a Series D led by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, which took it past a billion dollar valuation in 2021. This is not a fragile player: it is an established vendor whose positioning simply differs from yours if you do outbound prospecting.

What users say
Aircall gets two very different ratings depending on which platform you look at. The gap is instructive, because the two are not measuring the same thing.
Audio quality is the best rated point in the category, at 9.1 out of 10. Ease of setup and CRM integrations come up constantly in positive reviews.
The distribution is polarised: 58% five star reviews and 29% one star reviews. Negative reviews rarely concern features and almost always concern billing, automatic renewal and support responsiveness.
Breakdown of the 1,081 Trustpilot reviews
Recorded on 3 September 2026
The average hides two populations: a majority of customers who are very happy with the product, and close to a third of one star reviews about the contractual relationship. It is that second group you should read before you sign.
This is the most frequent complaint on Trustpilot: tacit renewal, an unexpected invoice, no refund when a contract ends early. The thing to check is therefore not the product, but your contract's anniversary date and notice period.
Several reviews report long response times on billing queries. Worth weighing, because support is a decisive criterion for a team that lives on the phone all day.
Connection and audio quality problems recur in part of the reviews, even though audio quality is the best rated point on G2. A sign that the experience depends heavily on each customer's network conditions.
SMS capabilities are limited and absent from some plans, which weighs on teams that alternate calls and written messages inside the same prospecting sequence.
Where the data is hosted
This is the point comparisons most often leave out, and the first one your legal department will raise. Call recordings hold personal data, sometimes sensitive data.
Aircall
Amazon Web Services, United States
Recordings and voicemails for accounts created before 3 May 2022 are stored on AWS US West, in Oregon, unless Frankfurt or Sydney is explicitly agreed. The rest of the data (account, users, call statistics) is hosted on servers located in the United States. Aircall states that it is working towards a migration to European infrastructure.
Skipcall
Scaleway, France
Hosting is handled by a French cloud provider, which places the processing under the GDPR and European law with no transfer to a third country.
The real cost of entry
The advertised price and the price paid are two different things, because of the licence minimum and the options billed separately.
On this ground the gap is clear: €15 against a $90 cost of entry, because Aircall enforces three licences where one is enough. Neither plan includes a dialler.
Here the Skipcall licence costs more, but it dials four lines instead of one and discards answering machines. It is the cost per conversation, not the cost per licence, that separates the two.

The French legal framework from 11 August 2026
This is the factor most comparisons ignore, even though it changes the economics of telephone prospecting in France.
From 11 August 2026, cold calling consumers in France moves from opt-out to opt-in: a call is lawful only if the person has given prior consent. Bloctel, the French opt-out register, disappears on that date. Business to business prospecting remains possible, subject to the rules that apply to data processing.
The direct consequence for anyone choosing a tool: the volume of permitted calls falls, so each attempt has to produce more. A dialler that discards answering machines and puts your reps in conversation more often is no longer a comfort, it is what makes the channel profitable.

Note the anniversary date of the contract and the applicable notice period before you do anything else. That is what sets your switching window, not the availability of the new tool. Trustpilot reviews show it is the point that costs the most when it is discovered too late.
Your numbers belong to you and can be ported from one operator to another. Ask your current provider for the information you need and start the process before you cancel: the order of operations determines whether service continues.
Recordings, call logs, notes and statistics: request the export while the account is still active. A lost history cannot be rebuilt, and it carries part of the value of your customer relationships.
List what reaches your CRM today, field by field, and check that the equivalent will exist tomorrow. That is where the gaps sit, more than in the calling features themselves.
The 4 week switching plan
Comparisons tell you what to choose, never how to leave. Here is the real calendar for changing telephony provider, with what is at stake each week and the mistake that costs the most.
- Note the anniversary date of the contract and the exact notice period, in writing
- List the numbers you need to keep and identify which one serves as the main number
- Request the export of recordings and call logs while the account is still active
The trap.Waiting until you have picked the new tool before looking at the notice period. The notice period sets the calendar, not the other way round.
- Open one licence with the vendor you have shortlisted and give it to a single sales rep
- Run the same contact list as the week before, so the comparison is made at equal volume
- Record the answer rate and the number of conversations, not the number of calls
The trap.Judging on a sales demo. One week of real use on your own files tells you more than three meetings.
- Send the cancellation in the form the contract requires, keeping proof that you sent it
- Start number porting with the new operator, before the cancellation date
- Rebuild the CRM integration field by field and validate it on ten test contacts
The trap.Cancelling before porting has started. A number released too early can be lost for good.
- Run both tools side by side for a few days, until porting completes
- Train the team: thirty minutes of hands on time is enough on a dialler
- Launch the first full call sequence and check the same day that it reaches the CRM
The trap.Shutting off the old service on switchover day. Keep it live until porting is confirmed in writing.
Before you renew
The 5 questions to ask your current provider
Asked in writing, they give you both the information you need to switch and a lever to renegotiate if you decide to stay.
- 01What is the exact renewal date, and what notice period applies?
- 02Does the contract provide a pro rata refund if I cancel early?
- 03How quickly can you give me the information needed to port my numbers?
- 04Where are my recordings stored today, and in what format can I export them?
- 05Is the licence minimum negotiable if I reduce my headcount?
What do you actually need?
Three use cases, three families of tools. Most bad choices come from confusing the first two.
Aircall and Ringover belong to the third family. Looking there for a prospecting dialler is like asking a switchboard to do a job it was never designed for.
Who each solution is for
Aircall is still the right choice if
- your main use is business telephony: reception, transfers, switchboard, inbound calls
- you need broad international coverage and a large catalogue of integrations
- your team has at least three users
An alternative makes sense if
- your teams do outbound prospecting and dialling time has become the limiting factor
- call transcription and call summaries have to be included, not billed as extras
- hosting data in Europe is a requirement from your legal department
- you want to start with a single licence
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Aircall alternative in 2026?+
There is no single answer: the right choice depends on the use case. For business telephony (reception, transfers, inbound calls), Aircall remains relevant and well rated. For outbound prospecting, the decisive criterion is the dialling mode: a tool that calls several lines in parallel and automatically discards answering machines puts sales reps in conversation far more often for the same call volume. The main alternatives are Ringover, CloudTalk and JustCall on the telephony side, Nooks and Orum on the American parallel dialler side, and Skipcall for French prospecting teams.
What are the French alternatives to Aircall?+
Ringover and Skipcall are the two main alternatives built in France. Ringover positions itself on business telephony, with a scope close to Aircall's. Skipcall focuses on outbound prospecting, with a four line parallel dialler and data hosted at Scaleway, in France.
Does Aircall have a parallel dialler?+
No. Aircall offers a power dialler, which calls numbers one after another, available from the Professional plan upwards. No Aircall plan offers parallel or predictive dialling.
How much does Aircall really cost?+
The Essentials plan is advertised at $30 per licence per month on an annual commitment, but Aircall enforces a minimum of three licences: the real entry price is therefore $90 per month. On monthly billing the rate rises to $40 per licence. The Professional plan, the only one that gives access to the power dialler, is $50 per licence per month on an annual commitment. The AI assistant is billed at $9 per licence on top of Essentials.
Is Aircall suitable for outbound cold calling?+
Aircall suits moderate outbound call volumes, but its sequential dialling becomes limiting as soon as prospecting is the core activity. Without automatic answering machine detection or parallel dialling, the share of a session actually spent in conversation stays low.
Where is Aircall customer data hosted?+
On Amazon Web Services infrastructure. For accounts created before 3 May 2022, recordings and voicemails are stored by default in Oregon, in the United States, unless Frankfurt or Sydney is explicitly agreed. The rest of the data (account, users, statistics) is hosted on American servers. Aircall states that it is working towards a migration to European infrastructure.
Why is Aircall rated 4.4 on G2 and 2.9 on Trustpilot?+
Because the two platforms collect different feedback. G2 mostly gathers assessments of the tool in daily use, where Aircall does well, notably 9.1 out of 10 on audio quality. Trustpilot concentrates more feedback on the commercial relationship: automatic renewal, billing and support. The distribution there is polarised, with 58% five star reviews and 29% one star reviews.
How do I cancel an Aircall subscription?+
Cancellation follows the terms of the contract you signed, respecting the notice period before the anniversary date. This is the point that comes up most often in negative reviews: renewal is tacit and refunds are not granted when a contract ends early. Check your renewal date before starting anything, and keep a written record of your request.
Can I keep my numbers when I leave Aircall?+
Yes. Numbers can be ported from one operator to another. Ask your current provider for the information needed for porting and start the process before you cancel, so that service is never interrupted.
How long does it take to switch tools?+
Going live takes hours: importing contacts, connecting the CRM, running the first call sequence. It is the contractual notice period and the number porting lead time that set the real calendar, not the technical work.
Is there an Aircall alternative with no minimum number of licences?+
Yes. Aircall enforces a minimum of three licences, but several alternatives start at one. With Skipcall a single licence is enough, which lets you equip one sales rep and measure the channel before rolling it out to the whole team.
