Head to head
Skipcall vs Trellus: which one to choose
Both tools dial several lines in parallel, but they do not cover the same scope and they do not step in at the same moment. This page settles one question only: which of the two for your team. It compares what each one carries, a full working day, the cost per conversation and the quotas, with the calculation method on show.
Data verified on
The verdict, in three lines
What decides is not the number of lines dialled: it is what you already own, and the moment you expect the tool to step in. On the dialler line alone, Trellus is cheaper than we are, including per conversation obtained: the question is what else you have to buy for it to work.
Choose Trellus if
You already own a sales engagement platform and you want visible help during the conversation.
Trellus plugs into a tool you already use, dials for you and displays a live talk speed indicator, objection handling prompts and questions to ask. Skipcall does no real time coaching during the call. If that assistance is what you are looking for, Trellus provides it and we do not.
Choose Skipcall if
You have fewer than a hundred employees and you want telephony and prospecting in a single subscription.
One tool for the whole organisation: parallel dialling on four lines, contacts, call sequences, call transcription and call summary for the people who prospect, plus a business number, inbound calls, voicemail, SMS and mobile and web apps for everyone else. No third party platform to own or maintain.
If you are still weighing several tools and not only these two, the page on Trellus alternatives compares eight solutions on the market and details the company, the hosting and the reviews of each one.
What Trellus does better than us
Four areas where the choice is not up for debate. Knowing them before you buy avoids a project that derails in the third month.
Assistance during the conversation
It is the heart of their product and we do not have it. During the call, Trellus displays a talk speed indicator, objection handling prompts and questions to ask. Skipcall provides the transcription and the summary once the call is over, but never steps into the conversation. If you are training junior reps and you want to help them live, the advantage is clear.
One more line in parallel dialling
The Trellus Parallel plan dials up to five simultaneous lines, against four at Skipcall. At an equal pace, that is one more attempt per burst. The gap is modest next to the rest, but it exists and it can be measured.
Replacing nothing you already run
Trellus installs on top of Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot, Apollo, Salesforce, Zoho, VanillaSoft or Amplemarket. Your multichannel sequences, your fields and your habits stay in the platform you already know. Adopting Skipcall means changing calling tool instead: that is a project, however short.
The entry price on the dialler licence alone
Trellus lists $99.99 for its Power plan and $149.99 for its Parallel plan, with a promotional price of $34.99 on 3 September 2026. On the dialler line alone, that is cheaper than our Expert plan at €280. The comparison only holds on that line: the Trellus licence includes neither the engagement platform, which is a prerequisite, nor the telephony layer.
What Skipcall does better than Trellus
The same exercise the other way round, and open to the same checks: four areas where the gap runs in our favour.
A complete tool, not a layer on top
Trellus is an extension that plugs into a sales engagement platform: without Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot, Apollo, Salesforce, Zoho, VanillaSoft or Amplemarket, the product does not work. Skipcall assumes no third party tool: the dialler, the phone line, the contacts, the call sequences and the transcription all sit in the same subscription.
The listed price is the full price
On the dialler line alone, Trellus is cheaper than our Expert plan, and the section on cost says so plainly. Its licence is still a floor: on top of it come the subscription to the host platform, which is a prerequisite, and the telephony layer, which is outside its scope. With us, what you read on the pricing page is what you pay.
The roles that do not prospect
Trellus addresses reps who make outbound calls, and its vendor does not present itself as a business telephony operator. At Skipcall, a colleague who simply needs a business number, inbound calls, voicemail, SMS and the mobile and web apps costs €15 per licence per month.
A single supplier
With a layer on top, the stack counts at least two suppliers: the sales engagement platform and the dialler, each with its contract, its support and its invoice. At Skipcall, a single contract covers telephony and prospecting, and a single team answers when a call fails to go out.
Two families of tools, and only one that covers both
Most companies that prospect end up with two subscriptions: a telephony tool for everyone, a dialler for the sales team. That is the real hidden cost of this market, and it appears on no price list.
Business telephony
The large cloud operators.
Reception, switchboard, call queues, customer service, international coverage, a broad catalogue of integrations.
No parallel dialling. Your reps are capped at the number of calls they can place one by one.
Tools built for prospecting
This is the family Trellus belongs to.
Simultaneous dialling of several lines, answering machine detection, callback cadences, and for some of them assistance displayed during the call. Very effective in their lane.
No telephony layer. The rest of the organisation, which simply needs a number and the ability to receive calls, has to be equipped elsewhere. So a second subscription. Trellus adds a condition: a sales engagement platform must already be in place.
Skipcall
Both, in the same tool.
Parallel dialling on four lines, on a par with the best specialists, and the full telephony layer: business number, inbound calls, voicemail, SMS, mobile and web apps, from €15 per licence.
Fewer reception features than a large telephony vendor, and no real time coaching during the call. That is deliberate: beyond a hundred employees or so, an inbound specialist is the better fit.
In practice: at Skipcall, a €15 licence is enough to equip someone who simply needs a business number, an app and the ability to receive calls. The reps who prospect take a plan from €75, with parallel dialling. Same tool, same directory, same invoice, and nothing to own elsewhere.
The dialling mode, then the moment the tool steps in
In this head to head, dialling is not the breaking point: both vendors offer both modes. You still need to understand the gap, because it drives the volume of conversations and therefore the plan to pick.
Sequential dialling
A number is dialled, the line rings, then the call connects or it does not. Only at the end of that sequence does the next number go out. The rep waits through the ringing, listens to the start of answering machines and hangs up. That is the power dialler mode, included at Skipcall and offered by Trellus on its Power plan.
Parallel dialling
Several numbers go out at the same time. As soon as someone picks up, the other lines are released and the rep is connected. Answering machine detection screens out voicemail, switchboards and invalid numbers before they reach them. Skipcall dials four lines, on every plan from Starter upwards. Trellus dials up to five, on its Parallel plan.
The real difference lies elsewhere: Trellus steps in during the conversation, Skipcall before and after. We prepare the call by screening out what is not worth taking, then we document it through the transcription and the summary. In between, there is only your rep and the person on the other end. The next table puts figures on what the dialling mode changes.
A typical day, hour by hour
Same rep, same list, same working hours. Only the dialling mode changes.
| Slot | What happens | Calls · sequential | Calls · parallel |
|---|---|---|---|
| 09:00 to 10:30 | First burst on the list for the day | 45 | 150 |
| 10:30 to 12:30 | Rest of the list and scheduled callbacks | 60 | 200 |
| 14:00 to 15:30 | Second pass on the morning no answers | 45 | 150 |
| 15:30 to 17:30 | Final burst and end of day notes | 60 | 200 |
| Total for the day | 210 | 700 | |
| Conversations obtained | 6 | 56 | |
Assumptions on show: four working slots, a connect rate of 3% in sequential dialling, the upper bound of our published range of 2 to 3%, and of 8% in parallel dialling. These are the figures published by Skipcall, applied to dialling modes and not to brands. A plan that dials one number at a time reads in the left column, a plan that dials several lines in the right one, whichever the vendor. The detail is in the section on method and sources, further down.
The cost per conversation, and what it covers
Since both tools dial in parallel, the volume of conversations is identical on both sides: 1,120 a month, from the typical day above and twenty working days. What is left to compare is the price against that volume, then what each licence actually contains.
Trellus Parallel
$0.13
per conversation, prerequisites excluded
Licence: $149.99 a month
Conversations: 1,120 a month
Scope: the dialler alone
To add: engagement platform and phone line
Skipcall Expert
€0.25
per conversation, everything included
Licence: €280 a month
Conversations: 1,120 a month
Scope: dialler, line and transcription
To add: nothing
On the dialler line alone, Trellus is cheaper, and it has to be said that way. The figure on the left is a floor, though: it includes neither the engagement platform without which the product does not start, nor a business phone number for the rest of the organisation. The figure on the right includes both. The Skipcall plan used here is the one whose quota actually covers the projected volume: at this pace, Starter and its 400 conversations would be passed in the second week. The next point explains how to pick the right tier.
The Trellus Power plan dials one number at a time: at an equal pace it produces 120 conversations a month, that is $0.83 per conversation for a licence at $99.99. Real time coaching and the team dashboard belong to the Business plan, whose price is not public: priced on request.
Amounts excluding tax, in the billing currency of each vendor, without conversion. A promotional price of $34.99 was shown on both individual Trellus plans on 3 September 2026; the calculations use the reference prices, which are the ones a renewal will be charged at.
Our plans carry a conversation quota. Here is the one that suits you
Skipcall caps the number of conversations on three of its four plans. Better to explain it clearly: picked badly, the plan becomes the real hidden cost.
| Plan | Price | Conversations | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business VoIP | €15 | 200 | The roles that need a business number and a few calls a day, without prospecting. |
| Starter | €75 | 400 | A rep who prospects half time, or a team getting started. Around 20 conversations per working day. |
| Intermediate | €150 | 1,000 | A rep whose main job is phone prospecting. Around 50 conversations per working day. |
| Expert | €280 | Unlimited | Very high volume teams, and those who would rather not watch a counter. |
Any conversation lasting more than ten seconds is counted. Calls under ten seconds, answering machines and invalid numbers consume nothing. Included SMS volumes run from 100 to 1,000 a month depending on the plan, and are unlimited on Expert. No minimum number of licences is required. The list of countries you can call is on the pricing page.
Our artificial intelligence serves the rep, it does not replace them
This is the fundamental difference between Skipcall and part of the market, in both directions: we put more of it in than the tools that have none, and we refuse to put it where others place it. On this page it is the central point, because it explains why we do no real time coaching.
What our artificial intelligence does
It screens out answering machines, switchboards and invalid numbers before they reach the rep. It transcribes the call and produces a summary. In other words, it prepares and it documents: it removes work that has no value and leaves the work that does.
What it does not do
It does not step into the conversation. No prompt displayed while your rep is speaking, no voice agent calling in their place. This is not a feature running late, it is a position: between the moment the prospect picks up and the moment they hang up, there are only two people.
The material we leave you
Recordings, transcriptions and call metrics are available from the interface, and our API exposes them for reading. That is the raw material for a coaching loop run once the call is over: we supply the material, you run the session.
Why cost matters too
Artificial intelligence features billed by the minute or by credit consumed make the invoice follow the volume. It becomes hard to forecast, and the real effect on the customer relationship hard to measure. With us, transcription and summary are included in the licence: the budget is known in advance.
In one sentence
Our artificial intelligence prepares the call and documents it. It never enters the conversation.
Dialling, screening out an answering machine, spotting an invalid number, transcribing, summarising: a machine does it better and never tires. Talking to a customer or a prospect, no. That limit is also what makes your budget predictable: a fixed price licence, and not per minute billing that follows your volume.

Method and sources
A comparison published by one of the two vendors is only worth something if its method can be checked. Here is where each figure on this page comes from, including what it does not prove.
The prices
Skipcall prices are those of the public price list, excluding tax, on monthly billing. Trellus prices are those shown on trellus.ai/pricing, in dollars: $99.99 for the Power plan and $149.99 for the Parallel plan, per user per month, with a promotional price of $34.99 recorded on 3 September 2026. The Business plan, the only one to include real time coaching, is priced on request. We do not convert currencies, so that a comparison never depends on the exchange rate of the day.
The connect rates
The 8% rate in parallel dialling and the 3% rate in sequential dialling, the upper bound of our published range of 2 to 3%, are the figures published by Skipcall on its product pages. They are our own figures, not an independent measurement, and they are attributed to no vendor by name: they describe two dialling modes, not two brands. Since both tools offer parallel dialling, the same rate applies on both sides in the cost per conversation calculation.
The typical day
The hourly table is an arithmetic projection built from the calling paces and the rates above, over four working slots and twenty working days a month. It is not the record of a real day. Your figures will depend on your list, your sector and your calling hours.
What the cost per conversation does not say
It relates a licence price to a volume of conversations. It says nothing about the scope that licence covers, and that is exactly what separates the two tools here: the Trellus licence includes neither the engagement platform it requires, nor the phone line. The figure shown for Trellus is therefore a floor, not a budget.
What we do not compare here
The identity of the vendor, its funding, where the data is hosted and public review scores do not appear on this page. They are covered, with sources, on the Trellus alternative page.

Frequently asked questions
Can you use Trellus without Salesloft, Outreach or HubSpot? +
No. Trellus works as a layer on top: it needs one of the supported engagement platforms, namely Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot, Apollo, Salesforce, Zoho, VanillaSoft or Amplemarket. A team that has none of these tools cannot use it. Skipcall is a standalone platform: it carries its own contacts, its outbound call sequences and its phone line, and needs nothing else to run.
Does Skipcall offer real time coaching during the call? +
No, and that is a choice. Our artificial intelligence prepares and documents: it screens out answering machines and invalid numbers before the call, then transcribes and summarises once the call is over. It displays nothing while your rep is speaking. Recordings, transcriptions and metrics are available in the interface and exposed for reading by our API: that is the material for coaching run after the call. If you want assistance displayed live, Trellus offers it on its Business plan.
Does Trellus offer a parallel dialler? +
Yes. The Parallel plan gives access to multi line dialling, up to five simultaneous lines according to the vendor documentation, with automatic answering machine detection. The Power plan dials one number at a time. Skipcall dials four lines in parallel, on every plan from Starter upwards.
How much does Trellus cost compared with Skipcall? +
On 3 September 2026, Trellus lists $99.99 for its Power plan and $149.99 for its Parallel plan, per user per month, with a promotional price of $34.99. The Business plan, the only one to include real time coaching, is priced on request. At Skipcall, the range runs from €15 to €280 per licence per month, with no minimum. Comparing those two amounts only makes sense once you add, on the Trellus side, the subscription to the engagement platform it requires and the phone line, both of which are included with us.
How many conversations are included in a Skipcall plan? +
400 per licence per month on the Starter plan, 1,000 on Intermediate, no limit on Expert, and 200 on the Business VoIP offer. Any conversation lasting more than ten seconds is counted. A rep who prospects full time with parallel dialling usually goes past the Starter quota: Intermediate, or even Expert, matches that use.
Does Skipcall replace my sales engagement platform? +
On the calling side, yes: contacts, outbound call sequences, tasks, the dashboard and enrichment are included, and the native HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce and Attio integrations push activity back into your CRM. Our sequences orchestrate outbound calls only: if you run multichannel cadences mixing emails and LinkedIn messages, that part stays in your current tool.
Is there a minimum number of licences? +
At Skipcall, none: one licence is enough, and the first month costs the price of one licence. At Trellus, the individual plans are also bought one at a time, but the real budget per rep also includes the subscription to the engagement platform without which the product does not work.
