Head to head
Skipcall vs RingCentral: which one to choose
On one side an enterprise communications suite, on the other an outbound calling tool. Both make a phone ring, but they do not dial the same way and they do not target the same company size. This page settles a single question: which of the two for your team. It compares the dialling methods, a full working day, the cost per conversation, the contractual terms and the quotas, with the calculation method on show.
Data verified on
The verdict, in three lines
The deciding factor is not the length of the feature list: it is the size of your company, and the number of conversations your team has to get every month. On price, let us say it straight away: RingCentral is cheaper, per licence and per conversation obtained.
Choose RingCentral if
You have more than a hundred employees, answering the phone is a job in itself, or your calling targets fit within manual dialling.
Interactive voice response, supervision, call recording, video meetings and team messaging all appear in the plan comparison published for France, and the price per licence falls beyond twenty and then a hundred users. Past a certain size, telephony becomes a project of its own: that is the ground of enterprise communications suites, and Skipcall does not claim to cover it. To which we add a point we set out below rather than sidestep: as long as your need fits within the volume of conversations a sales rep gets by dialling by hand, RingCentral costs less per conversation obtained.
Choose Skipcall if
You have fewer than a hundred employees and a team that prospects.
One tool for the whole organisation: parallel dialling on four lines for the people who prospect, and a business number, inbound calls, voicemail, SMS and mobile and web apps for everyone else. No minimum term and no minimum number of licences. That is where Skipcall belongs.
This page settles a choice between two tools. It says nothing about the other solutions on the market: if you are still weighing up several tools, the RingCentral alternative page is the one to read.
What RingCentral does better than us
Four areas where the choice is not open to debate. Knowing them before you buy avoids a project that goes off the rails in the third month.
The contact centre layer
Skipcall receives calls on your numbers, with voicemail and mobile and web apps. What it does not have is the layer above: interactive voice response, call queues, distribution to a group of agents, real time supervision. The plan comparison published for France lists those functions. A structured customer service team needs them, and we do not offer them.
Online meetings and collaboration
Video meetings, team messaging, fax: the French plan comparison lists those too. Skipcall does not offer them and does not plan to. If your goal is to bring telephony, online meetings and internal messaging under a single contract, the answer is an enterprise suite, not a calling tool.
Volume pricing beyond twenty licences
The RingCentral price per licence depends on the headcount band: the French price list publishes four bands, 1 user, 2 to 19, 20 to 99, then 100 and above, and the price falls at every band change. Skipcall applies a single price whatever the number of licences. Past a certain headcount, that sliding scale works in the large vendor's favour, and you should know it before comparing two invoice lines.
Organisations with more than a hundred employees
Let us say it without hedging: beyond a hundred or so employees, a vendor like RingCentral answers better than we do. Several sites, several departments, reception rules, international coverage, service commitments to negotiate: an enterprise communications suite is equipped for that. Skipcall is built for smaller organisations, where one team prospects and the rest of the company simply needs to make calls.
What Skipcall does better than RingCentral
The same exercise in reverse, and checkable against the same sources: four areas where the gap works in our favour. None of them is a price argument, for the reason we set out below.
The outbound dialler
The plan comparison RingCentral publishes for France mentions no outbound dialler, on any plan, including the most complete in the range: numbers are dialled one by one. With Skipcall, the power dialler and parallel dialling on four lines are available from the Starter plan, and the artificial intelligence screens out answering machines before they reach the sales rep.
What surrounds the call
Call transcription, call summary and SMS messaging do not appear in the plan comparison published for France. With Skipcall, transcription and summary are included in every plan, and the SMS volume runs from 100 to unlimited depending on the plan. These are the functions a prospecting team uses once the call is over, so it does not retype its notes somewhere else.
No minimum term
RingCentral's French general terms and conditions provide for an initial term set out on the order, automatic renewal for successive periods of the same length, 30 days' notice before the expiry date to prevent renewal, and payment of the sums remaining due in the event of early termination. With Skipcall, none of those lines exist: the subscription stops when you decide, with no notice period and no expiry date to watch.
The ceiling of the working day
Dialling one number at a time, a sales rep makes around 140 calls in a full day, which is 200 conversations a month. Over the same day, parallel dialling launches 700, which is 1,120 conversations. This is not a price argument, and we write it plainly further down: per conversation obtained, RingCentral remains cheaper. What parallel dialling moves is the ceiling, and that ceiling runs into the hours in the day, not into the budget.
Two families of tools, and only one that covers both
Most companies that prospect end up with two subscriptions: a communications suite for everyone, a dialler for the sales team. That is the real hidden cost of this market, and it appears on no price list.
Enterprise communications suites
This is RingCentral's family.
Reception, phone system, call queues, supervision, customer service, online meetings and internal messaging, international coverage, contractual service commitments.
No parallel dialling. The plan comparison published for France lists no outbound dialler: your sales reps are capped at the number of calls they can dial one by one.
Specialised parallel diallers
Tools built for a single job.
Simultaneous dialling on several lines, answering machine detection, call back cadences. Very effective in prospecting.
No telephony layer. The rest of the company, which just needs a number and the ability to receive calls, has to be equipped elsewhere. So a second subscription.
Skipcall
Both, in the same tool.
Parallel dialling on four lines, level with the best specialists, plus the telephony layer: business number, inbound calls, voicemail, SMS, mobile and web apps.
Fewer reception features and no online meetings. That is deliberate: beyond a hundred or so employees, an enterprise suite is the better answer.
In practice: with Skipcall, a €15 licence is enough to equip someone who simply needs a business number, an app and the ability to receive calls. The sales reps who prospect take a plan from €75, with parallel dialling. Same tool, same directory, same invoice, and no minimum term.
It all comes down to the dialling method
Manual dialling
A number is dialled, the line rings, then the call connects or it does not. Only at the end of that sequence does the next number go out, and it is the sales rep who launches it. They wait through the ringing, listen to the start of answering machine messages and hang up. The plan comparison RingCentral publishes for France lists no outbound dialler: on this range, numbers are dialled one by one.
Parallel dialling
Four numbers go out at the same time. As soon as someone answers, the other three lines are released and the sales rep is connected. Filtering by artificial intelligence screens out answering machines, switchboards and invalid numbers before they reach them. The waiting time between two calls disappears, which changes the number of conversations obtained for the same working time.
The difference is not about voice quality or how rich the software is: it is about the number of attempts possible in an hour of work. That is what the next table puts into figures.
A typical day, hour by hour
Same sales rep, same list, same working time. Only the dialling method changes.
| Time slot | What happens | Calls · manual | Calls · parallel |
|---|---|---|---|
| 09:00 to 10:30 | First run through the day's list | 30 | 150 |
| 10:30 to 12:30 | Rest of the list and scheduled call backs | 40 | 200 |
| 14:00 to 15:30 | Second pass on the morning's no answers | 30 | 150 |
| 15:30 to 17:30 | Final run and end of day notes | 40 | 200 |
| Total for the day | 140 | 700 | |
| Conversations obtained | 10 | 56 | |
Assumptions on show: four working slots, an answer rate of 7% with manual dialling (the top of the 5 to 7% range we publish) and of 8% with parallel dialling on four lines. These are the figures published by Skipcall, applied to dialling methods and not to brands. The detail is in the “Method and sources” section, below.
The cost per conversation, and what it does not tell you
Comparing two licence prices teaches you nothing when the two tools do not dial the same way. So two figures are needed, not one: what a conversation obtained costs, and how many conversations the dialling method makes it possible to reach in a month. Here is the calculation, from the typical day above and twenty working days a month. The first figure favours RingCentral.
RingCentral Ultimate
€0.12
per conversation
Licence: €24.99 per month
Conversations: 200 per month
Commitment: annual, renewed automatically
Without a commitment: €28.99 per month
Skipcall Expert
€0.25
per conversation
Licence: €280 per month
Conversations: 1,120 per month
Commitment: none
Minimum number of licences: none
On this criterion RingCentral wins, and clearly: €0.12 per conversation against €0.25 with us, roughly half the price. An Ultimate licence at €24.99 is still a licence at €24.99, and the extra volume that parallel dialling produces does not make up for a price gap of that size. Better to write it than to let you find it out on a spreadsheet.
What the unit cost does not tell you is the ceiling. The same sales rep, over the same working day, gets 200 conversations a month dialling by hand and 1,120 with parallel dialling, which is 5.6 times more. If your target fits within 200 conversations a month, RingCentral supplies them for less and the question is settled. If you need twice that, no RingCentral plan will produce them, whatever its price: the limit is not budgetary, it is a matter of hours. You would have to hire a second sales rep, and the comparison then changes nature completely.
Two more elements weigh on this decision, and they appear in neither column. The Skipcall plan used here is the one whose quota actually covers the projected volume: at this pace, the Starter and its 400 conversations would be exceeded in the second week, and the next section explains how to pick the right tier. On the RingCentral side, the displayed price assumes an annual commitment renewed automatically, with 30 days' notice to prevent renewal, whereas our plans can be cancelled with no minimum term.
Amounts excluding tax, in euros. RingCentral price taken from the “2 to 19 users” band of the French price list.
Our plans include a conversation quota. Here is the one that suits you
Skipcall caps the number of conversations on three of its four plans. Better to explain it clearly than to let a competitor do it for us: badly chosen, the plan becomes the real hidden cost.
| Plan | Price | Conversations | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business VoIP | €15 | 200 | The people who need a business number and a few calls a day, with no prospecting. |
| Starter | €75 | 400 | A sales rep who prospects part time, or a team getting started. Around 20 conversations per working day. |
| Intermediate | €150 | 1,000 | A sales rep whose main job is phone prospecting. Around 50 conversations per working day. |
| Expert | €280 | Unlimited | Very high volume teams, and those who would rather not watch a counter. |
Any conversation longer than ten seconds is counted. Calls under ten seconds, answering machines and invalid numbers consume nothing. The SMS volume included runs from 100 to unlimited depending on the plan. The list of countries you can call is on the pricing page.
Our artificial intelligence serves the sales rep, it does not replace them
This is the fundamental difference between Skipcall and part of the market, in both directions: we put more of it in than the tools that have none, and we refuse to put it where others place it.
What our artificial intelligence does
It screens out answering machines, switchboards and invalid numbers before they reach the sales rep. It transcribes the call and produces a summary. In other words, it removes work that has no value and leaves the work that has.
What it does not do
It does not speak for you. We do not offer a voice agent, and this is not a feature we are late on: it is a position. To call a prospect or answer a customer, the best person for your company's image is still a member of your team.
Why the relationship matters
A company that hands its conversations to a machine loses the direct link with its contacts. That link is hard to rebuild, and its weakening does not show on a dashboard for several months.
Why cost matters too
Voice agents are billed by the minute or by credits consumed. The invoice follows the volume, it is hard to forecast, and the real effect on the customer relationship is hard to measure. A fixed price licence remains a budget you control.
In one sentence
We automate what wastes your sales reps' time, never the conversation itself.
Dialling, screening out an answering machine, spotting an invalid number, transcribing, summarising: the machine does it better and never tires. Talking to a customer or a prospect, no. That limit is also what makes your budget predictable: a fixed price licence, and not per minute billing that follows your volume.

RingCentral scope recorded from the plan comparison and the general terms and conditions published for France on 3 September 2026. “Not listed in the France plan comparison” means the function does not appear in that comparison, not that it is absent from the product. Plans change: check the vendor's pricing page before you decide.
Method and sources
A comparison published by one of the two vendors is only worth something if its method can be checked. Here is where every figure on this page comes from, including what it does not prove.
The prices
Skipcall prices are those of the public price list, excluding tax, on monthly billing. RingCentral prices are those of the French pricing page, excluding tax, for the “2 to 19 users” band on an annual commitment: the Ultimate plan is shown there at €24.99 per licence per month, and at €28.99 without an annual commitment. Both vendors bill in euros, so no currency conversion is involved on this page. Changing headcount band changes the RingCentral price: beyond twenty and then a hundred users, it falls.
The RingCentral plan we use
We use Ultimate, the most complete plan in the range, precisely so that we cannot be accused of picking the cheapest. The plan comparison published for France mentions no outbound dialler on it, whatever the plan: the comparison is therefore between two different ways of making calls, not between two versions of the same product.
The answer rates
The rate of 8% with parallel dialling and the range of 5 to 7% with manual dialling are the figures Skipcall publishes on its product pages. The calculation uses 7%, the top of that range: a higher rate gives the competitor more conversations, which makes the comparison conservative. These are our own figures, not an independent measurement, and they are attributed to no vendor by name: they describe two dialling methods, not two brands.
The typical day
The hourly table is an arithmetic projection built from the calling cadences and the rates above, over four working slots and twenty working days a month. It is not the record of a real day. Your figures will depend on your list, your sector and your calling hours.
The contractual terms
The minimum term, the renewal for a period identical to the initial term, the 30 days' notice to prevent renewal and the payment of the sums remaining due in the event of early termination are those of RingCentral's French general terms and conditions, which set the French legal framework of this comparison. With Skipcall there is neither a minimum term nor a minimum number of licences: those lines are therefore not applicable.

Frequently asked questions
Does RingCentral have a dialler for outbound prospecting? +
The plan comparison RingCentral publishes for France mentions no outbound dialler, on any plan, including the most complete in the range. The functions listed belong to the enterprise communications suite: interactive voice response, call recording, supervision, video meetings, team messaging, fax, CRM integrations. A team that needs to dial several numbers in parallel and screen out answering machines automatically is therefore looking at a different category of tool.
Is Skipcall cheaper than RingCentral? +
No, neither per licence nor per conversation obtained, and we would rather say so. Per licence the gap is wide: the Expert plan is €280 where RingCentral's Ultimate plan is shown at €24.99 per licence per month in the “2 to 19 users” band on an annual commitment. Per conversation the gap narrows a great deal but does not reverse: around €0.12 with RingCentral against €0.25 with us, on the basis of an identical typical day. What parallel dialling changes is not the unit price, it is the ceiling: around 200 conversations a month dialling by hand, against 1,120 in parallel. Skipcall makes sense when that ceiling blocks you, not when you are looking for the lowest invoice line. The cost per conversation table, higher up this page, sets out the calculation.
Does Skipcall handle inbound calls like RingCentral? +
Only in part. Skipcall receives calls on your numbers, with voicemail and mobile and web apps. It offers no interactive voice response, no call queue, no distribution to a group of agents and no real time supervision. If your team has to handle a flow of support or customer service calls, RingCentral is better suited.
How much does RingCentral cost in France? +
The price depends on the number of users, across four public bands: 1 user, 2 to 19, 20 to 99, 100 and above. For a team of 2 to 19 people on an annual commitment, the Standard plan is shown at €14.99 per licence per month, and the Ultimate plan at €24.99. Without an annual commitment, those same plans go to €18.99 and €28.99. The entry level plan is not offered beyond 19 users. With Skipcall the price is the same whatever the headcount: €15, €75, €150 or €280 per licence per month.
Does RingCentral require a minimum term? +
The initial term is the one set out on the order. The French general terms and conditions provide that on its expiry, recurring services are renewed automatically for successive periods of the same length, unless notice not to renew is given at least 30 days before the expiry date. In the event of early termination for a reason other than a failure by the vendor, the contract provides for payment of the sums remaining due until the end of the period. Billing without an annual commitment exists, at a higher price. With Skipcall there is no minimum term: the subscription stops when you decide.
Is there a minimum number of licences? +
With neither of them. RingCentral's French general terms and conditions set no minimum number of users, and its pricing page even publishes a price band for a single user; on the other hand, a small contract pays the highest price on the list, since the price per licence only falls from twenty and then a hundred users. With Skipcall, one licence is enough and the price does not depend on headcount.
How many conversations are included in a Skipcall plan? +
400 per licence per month on the Starter plan, 1,000 on the Intermediate, unlimited on the Expert, and 200 on the Business VoIP offer. Any conversation longer than ten seconds is counted. A sales rep prospecting full time with parallel dialling goes past the Starter quota: the Intermediate, or even the Expert, matches that usage.
At what size should you prefer RingCentral? +
Skipcall is aimed at companies with fewer than a hundred employees. Beyond that, the needs change in nature: several sites, several departments, reception rules, international coverage, service commitments to negotiate, and volume pricing that works in favour of large contracts. A vendor like RingCentral answers those needs better than we do, and we would rather say so before you sign than let you find out in the third month.
