Kixie vs PhoneBurner
Four parallel lines with detection as a paid add-on against one deliberate line: published prices, calls to France and exit terms as of 8 September 2026.
We build Skipcall, and we sell to the same teams as Kixie and PhoneBurner. We therefore have a commercial interest in you choosing neither, and you should read this page knowing that.
That is why Skipcall appears nowhere in the comparison below: not in the table, not in the verdict, not in the questions. Every claim here points to a dated public source, listed at the foot of the page. If something looks wrong, write to us: we will correct it and date the correction.
In short
The essentials in five sentences
- As of 8 September 2026, Kixie publishes no per-licence price on its pricing page, while PhoneBurner advertises $140, $165 and $183 per licence per month billed annually.
- The Kixie Multi-Line PowerDialer plan dials up to four lines in parallel, whereas PhoneBurner handles one number at a time on every plan and defends that choice in the name of conversation quality.
- At Kixie, AI detection of a human answer is presented as a premium add-on, while at PhoneBurner one-click voicemail drop is included on every plan.
- The PhoneBurner FAQ states that the service only allows dialing numbers located in the United States and Canada: a team prospecting in France cannot use it to call its prospects.
- Kixie dials French numbers, but its unlimited minutes only cover the United States and Canada, with other destinations billed at the applicable rate.
Which of the two
To prospect North America while chasing the number of conversations, Kixie and its four parallel lines are the better answer, provided you get the per-licence price, which is not published, and the detection add-on quoted in writing. For a North American team that works through voicemail drops and wants to budget without talking to a salesperson, PhoneBurner is the simpler case: three public prices, no licence minimum, no commitment. To call French numbers the question does not arise in the same terms: PhoneBurner does not dial them, and Kixie does not cover them in its unlimited minutes plan.
The point that decides
Four lines with an add-on, or one line with none
Both vendors are filed under the same family, the power dialers, and yet they hold two opposite positions on the only point that really counts: what happens in the first second after a pick-up.
Kixie opens up to four simultaneous lines on its Multi-Line PowerDialer plan. Opening several lines means sorting very fast through what picks up, and telling a human answer from a voicemail. Yet that is exactly the AI detection Kixie presents as a higher-tier add-on rather than as a basic function of its dialer. The number of lines is advertised on the pricing page; the mechanism that makes those lines comfortable is sold separately, and Kixie publishes no amount for either the plan or the add-on.
PhoneBurner takes the opposite road and holds to it on every plan: one number at a time, the rep on the line at every pick-up. The vendor makes an argument of it rather than an admission, holding that opening several lines degrades the first second of the exchange, the one where the prospect decides whether to stay or hang up. Its answer to the time lost on voicemail is not filtering but one-click voicemail drop, included in all three plans at no extra cost, for which it claims 30 to 60 seconds saved on every voicemail reached.
So the choice between the two is not about the number of lines, but about which part of the problem you agree to pay for. With Kixie you buy the volume and fund the sorting separately. With PhoneBurner you buy the sequential conversation and the handling of voicemail comes with it, at the price of an entry ticket of $140 per licence per month billed annually, which Capterra reviews cite as the most frequent complaint.
That leaves geography, which settles everything else first for a French team, and which does not rule them out in the same way. PhoneBurner is closed: its FAQ states that only American and Canadian numbers can be dialled, and the vendor says it is looking into opening up internationally without announcing a date. Kixie is open but outside the plan: its unlimited minutes cover the United States and Canada, the matching plan being billed at $30 per user per month, and other destinations are billed at the applicable rate. In one case the answer is no, in the other it is “yes, at a price you will have to ask for”.

Which one for which use
Two situations, two answers
Kixie is the right choice if
- you prospect mainly in the United States and Canada, the two destinations covered by the unlimited minutes
- you want to dial several numbers at once and four lines match your target pace
- your CRM is HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho or HighLevel, and your reps call from the record
- you need to handle inbound calls in the same tool: IVR, ring groups, queues and rule-based routing
- entering a sales cycle to get a price is not a problem for you
PhoneBurner is the right choice if
- your prospects are in the United States or Canada, the only two countries that can be dialled
- you want a public price you can budget for without going through a sales conversation
- you are starting at a single licence and refuse any fixed term
- voicemail drop is central to your method: it is included in all three plans
- you prefer one line at a time, with no silence at the pick-up and no abandoned calls
The limits
What each one does not do
Kixie limits
- No per-licence price appears on the pricing page as of 8 September 2026: the amount goes through a sales conversation, which rules out budgeting before you enter a sales cycle.
- The terms of service provide that no payment is refunded and no credit is granted for a period already started.
- Numbers are released as soon as the cancellation is processed: porting has to be started while the account is still active, and porting takes several weeks.
- AI detection of a human answer, which weeds out voicemail, is presented as a premium add-on rather than as a basic function of the dialer.
PhoneBurner limits
- The service only dials American and Canadian numbers: no plan lets you call a French number, and the vendor announces no date for opening up to other countries.
- No plan offers parallel dialing, and the request comes up regularly in the G2 reviews of users who scale up their volume.
- The entry ticket is $140 per licence per month billed annually, and $165 billed monthly: it is the most frequent complaint in the Capterra reviews.
- Transcription, AI note taking and SMS messaging are only available from the $183 per licence per month plan upwards.
What neither of them does
- Neither of the two publishes the country where its customers' data is hosted. The Kixie privacy policy refers to a secure facility without naming a country, and its security page sends those questions to the sales contact. PhoneBurner publishes no country, no cloud provider and no list of subprocessors.
- Neither of the two includes a European destination in its unlimited minutes: they stop at the United States and Canada with Kixie, and PhoneBurner does not dial those destinations at all.
- Neither of the two advertises support in French. Kixie states that its support is 100% United States based, which means dealing with the time difference from France.
- Neither of the two publishes a price in euros: every published amount is in dollars, which leaves the exchange rate risk with a European buyer.

Frequently asked questions
Short answers
Which is cheaper between Kixie and PhoneBurner?
The comparison cannot be made as of 8 September 2026, because only one of the two publishes its prices. PhoneBurner advertises three plans at $140, $165 and $183 per licence per month billed annually, and $165, $195 and $215 billed monthly, with no licence minimum and no commitment. Kixie publishes no per-licence price on its pricing page: all that appears there is a plan of unlimited minutes to the United States and Canada at $30 per user per month, and outbound SMS from $0.011 apiece. To get a per-licence price from Kixie you have to go through the sales team.
Which one should you choose to prospect in France?
Neither of the two fully fits, but not for the same reason. The PhoneBurner FAQ states that the service only allows dialing numbers located in the United States and Canada: calling a French prospect is impossible there, whatever the plan. Kixie dials French numbers, but its unlimited minutes only cover the United States and Canada and other destinations are billed at the applicable rate, which you therefore have to ask for before you sign.
Do Kixie and PhoneBurner dial several numbers in parallel?
Kixie yes, PhoneBurner no. The Kixie Multi-Line PowerDialer plan dials up to four simultaneous lines, and AI detection of a human answer is presented there as a premium add-on. PhoneBurner handles one number at a time on every plan and defends that choice: according to the vendor, opening several lines degrades the first second of the conversation, the one where the prospect decides whether to stay or hang up.
Which one is better rated by users?
Both are very well rated on G2: 4.8 out of 5 across 866 reviews for Kixie, 4.7 out of 5 across more than 275 reviews for PhoneBurner. On Capterra, Kixie scores 4.6 out of 5 across 295 reviews and PhoneBurner 4.8 out of 5 across 176 reviews. The Trustpilot ratings do not read the same way: Kixie scores 3.4 out of 5 there across 98 reviews, with a polarised distribution of 58% five stars and 36% one star, while PhoneBurner has only 7 reviews, a sample with no statistical value.
What happens when a voicemail picks up with each of the two?
The two vendors handle the problem by opposite means. Kixie offers AI detection that tells a human answer from a voicemail, presented as a higher-tier add-on: you therefore have to check which plan includes it and at what cost. PhoneBurner does not filter and relies on one-click voicemail drop, included in all three plans, for which the vendor claims 30 to 60 seconds saved on every voicemail reached.
Can you move from PhoneBurner to Kixie, or from Kixie to PhoneBurner?
Yes, but the order of operations is not the same in the two directions. Leaving Kixie, porting has to be started before the cancellation: the terms of service provide that numbers are released as soon as the cancellation is processed, and that no payment is refunded. Leaving PhoneBurner, the exit is simple since there is neither a fixed term nor a renewal to negotiate, but an American or Canadian number does not port to a French carrier: opening a European market means opening new numbers.
Which one commits you for the shortest time?
PhoneBurner. Its FAQ states that no contract is required, that there is no licence minimum and that calls are unlimited with no per-minute billing; the rates advertised on annual billing do however mean paying for the year, the monthly rate being around 18% higher. At Kixie, the terms of service provide for monthly, quarterly or annual billing that continues until cancellation, which it falls to the customer to request in advance for all active seats.
Where is data hosted at Kixie and at PhoneBurner?
Neither of the two publishes it as of 8 September 2026. The Kixie privacy policy states that its servers are in a secure facility without naming the country, and its security page states that it publicly claims no certification, no audit result and no hosting architecture, inviting customers to ask their sales contact for those details. PhoneBurner publishes no hosting country, no cloud provider and no list of subprocessors. Both head offices are in California.
