The short version

  • PhoneBurner is an American company founded in 2008 in Laguna Beach, California, claiming more than 3,000 customers and over 750 million calls placed from its platform.
  • Its official FAQ states that the service only dials numbers located in the United States and Canada. A team prospecting in France therefore cannot use it.
  • Its dialer handles one number at a time: no plan offers parallel dialing, and the vendor defends that choice on conversation quality grounds.
  • Pricing is public and legible: $140, $165 and $183 per licence per month on annual billing, with no licence minimum and no commitment.
  • One-click voicemail drop is included in every plan, and it is the feature the vendor promotes most.

Our bias, stated up front

We make Skipcall, and we sell to the same teams as PhoneBurner. We therefore have a direct financial interest in you not choosing them.

You should read this page knowing that. It is also why it is built the way it is: every claim points to a dated public document you can open yourself. The sources are listed at the foot of the page. Nothing here rests on our word alone.

An entire section below is devoted to what PhoneBurner does better than us, and we had no interest in writing it. If anything here looks wrong to you, write to us: we will correct it and date the correction.

You cannot call France

This is the kind of constraint that makes the rest of an evaluation pointless, and it sits in the vendor's FAQ, not on its home page.

United States and Canada only

Parallel lines

1

one number at a time, on every plan

PhoneBurner regularly appears in European dialer comparisons, because it is old, well rated and well indexed. For a French team the question is settled before it starts: the service does not dial French numbers.

The second point is deliberate, and deserves presenting properly. PhoneBurner refuses parallel dialing and makes an argument of it: opening several lines, it says, degrades the first second of the conversation, the one in which the prospect decides whether to stay or hang up.

That is not a technical limit, it is a position. It is defensible, and it is close to ours in substance: we deliberately cap at four lines for the same reason. PhoneBurner simply takes the reasoning to its conclusion by stopping at one.

What to do about it

If you prospect from or into Europe, stop your evaluation here: this is not a question of price or features. If you prospect in North America and you believe in sequential dialing, PhoneBurner is a serious file, and its public price list lets you budget it without talking to anyone.

What the reviews of PhoneBurner are worth

PhoneBurner is very well rated where it counts, and its Trustpilot profile is too thin to read as a rating.

G2

4.7 / 5

over 275 reviews

One of the best-rated dialers in its category. Ease of adoption, support quality and time saved on voicemails recur constantly in positive reviews.

Trustpilot

2.7 / 5

7 reviews only

Seven published reviews: the average has no statistical value and should not be read as a rating. It indicates only that the rare customers who came to this platform brought billing and support grievances.

Be clear on this point, because it would be easy to misuse: a rating of 2.7 across seven reviews means nothing. We publish it because it exists, and we say immediately that it should not weigh in your decision.

The corpus that counts is G2's: more than 275 reviews at 4.7, for a vendor present since 2008. That is a solid file, and consistency across nearly twenty years is worth more than a very high rating across twenty.

Time saved on voicemails is the most cited point, and it is explained by one-click voicemail drop: instead of leaving a message at every answering machine, the rep triggers a pre-recorded one and moves straight to the next call.

What PhoneBurner does well

Four points we would rather not write, and which are true.

Eighteen years in the same trade

Founded in 2008, more than 750 million calls placed. On a market where most players are under five years old, that longevity is an argument we cannot set against it.

Refusing parallel dialing is a position, not a gap

The vendor argues that opening several lines degrades the first second of conversation. We share that reasoning, since we deliberately cap at four lines for the same reason. PhoneBurner follows the logic all the way by stopping at one, and that consistency deserves respect.

A public price list, no minimum, no commitment

Three plans, three prices, no licence minimum, no fixed term. On this market it is one of the easiest offers to budget, and the absence of commitment is rare at an American vendor of this size.

Voicemail drop is included everywhere

On every plan, at no extra cost. Several competitors make it a paid add-on or reserve it for the top plan.

The five questions to put to them in writing

Copy these straight into an email. In writing, not on a call: a written answer is binding, a spoken one leaves no trace.

01

Dialable destinations

“Your FAQ states that the service dials only American and Canadian numbers. Do you confirm that it is impossible to call French numbers from PhoneBurner, and that no add-on enables it?”
02

Parallel dialing

“None of your plans offers parallel dialing. Do you confirm that no multi-line mode exists, even as an add-on?”
03

The real effect of voicemail drop

“What call-back rate do you observe after a voicemail drop, and on what volume is that figure measured?”
04

Included minutes

“Are calls unlimited on every plan, and is there a fair use limit beyond which they are billed?”
05

Where recordings are hosted

“Where are call recordings and transcripts stored, and can you send me the data processing agreement?”

Who it is the right choice for, and who it is not

PhoneBurner is a good choice if

  • you prospect exclusively in the United States and Canada
  • you believe in sequential rather than parallel dialing
  • voicemail drop is central to your method
  • you want a public price list with no licence minimum or commitment

Look elsewhere if

  • you call French or European numbers: that is not possible
  • you want to dial several numbers in parallel
  • your objective is conversations per hour
  • your data must stay in Europe

Frequently asked questions

How much does PhoneBurner cost in 2026? +

Three plans are published, at $140, $165 and $183 per licence per month on annual billing, with no licence minimum and no fixed term. One-click voicemail drop is included in every plan.

Can PhoneBurner call French numbers? +

No. The vendor's official FAQ states that the service only dials numbers located in the United States and Canada. A team prospecting in France or elsewhere in Europe therefore cannot use it to call its prospects, whatever plan it takes.

Does PhoneBurner offer a parallel dialer? +

No, and that is deliberate. Its dialer handles one number at a time on every plan. The vendor defends that choice on conversation quality grounds: in its view, opening several lines degrades the first second of the exchange, the one in which the prospect decides whether to stay or hang up. That is a coherent position, not a technical limit.

What are the reviews of PhoneBurner worth? +

The rating is 4.7 out of 5 on G2 across more than 275 reviews, which makes it one of the best-rated dialers in its category. Its Trustpilot listing shows 2.7 out of 5, but across seven reviews only: that average has no statistical value and should not weigh in a decision.

Who publishes PhoneBurner? +

PhoneBurner is an American company founded in 2008 in Laguna Beach, California. It claims more than 3,000 customers and over 750 million calls placed from its platform.

Can this review be trusted, published by a competitor? +

We make Skipcall. We are not really competitors of PhoneBurner since it cannot call our markets, but our names cross in comparisons. You should read this page knowing that. Which is why we write that its refusal of parallel dialing is a coherent position we partly share, and that its eighteen years of presence are an argument we cannot match.

And where do we fit in

This page judges PhoneBurner; it does not sell Skipcall. If you are at the comparison stage rather than the evaluation stage, the comparative analysis lives elsewhere and is written for that.
