Nooks vs Trellus

Nooks is a complete platform with no public price, Trellus a $99.99 extension that assumes another subscription on top. Why the two do not replace each other.

We build Skipcall, and we sell to the same teams as Nooks and Trellus. We therefore have a commercial interest in you choosing neither, and you should read this page knowing that.

That is why Skipcall appears nowhere in the comparison below: not in the table, not in the verdict, not in the questions. Every claim here points to a dated public source, listed at the foot of the page. If something looks wrong, write to us: we will correct it and date the correction.

In short

The essentials in five sentences

  • Nooks and Trellus are not bought one instead of the other: Nooks is a standalone prospecting platform, while Trellus is a browser extension that bolts onto Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot or Apollo and does not work without one of them.
  • Trellus advertises $99.99 per user per month for its Power plan and $149.99 for its Parallel plan, with a promotional rate of $34.99 recorded on 7 September 2026, but those amounts add to the subscription for the platform it requires rather than replacing it.
  • Nooks publishes no rate at all: the only public order of magnitude is the median contract value of $30,105 a year recorded by the software buying marketplace Vendr, across 57 actual purchases observed.
  • As of 7 September 2026, Nooks shows 4.8 out of 5 across more than 1,500 G2 reviews while Trellus has no reviews on Trustpilot or Capterra, and 4.4 out of 5 across seven Product Hunt reviews.
  • Neither vendor publishes the region where its data is hosted: Nooks is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and Trellus frames its transfers with the standard contractual clauses from New York.

Which of the two

If you are looking for the tool that will place your calls, the question hardly arises: Trellus is not one until you are already paying for Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot or Apollo, and Nooks is the only one of the two that works without a third-party platform. If you already run one of those platforms and your subject is how conversations are conducted rather than how many calls get placed, Trellus costs a few tens of dollars per rep where Nooks means replacing the whole working setup. And if your constraint is knowing the budget before you enter a sales cycle, neither of the two gives you a complete figure on its website.

The point that decides

The only one that advertises a price is the one whose price is incomplete

Nooks publishes nothing and sells a whole product. Trellus publishes two amounts and sells a layer that assumes one more subscription. The two opacities are mirror images, and they are not handled the same way.

Trellus advertises $99.99 per user per month for the Power plan and $149.99 for the Parallel plan, with a promotional rate of $34.99 recorded on 7 September 2026. Those amounts are public, but they do not make up the budget: the product is a browser extension that bolts onto Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot, Apollo, Salesforce, Zoho, VanillaSoft or Amplemarket, and the subscription to that platform stacks on top of its own. The Business plan, the only one to contain real-time coaching and team analytics, shows no price at all: the most distinctive feature of the product is precisely the one whose rate is not published.

Nooks does the opposite. Its pricing page carries no amount, no tier and no advertised licence minimum, but what it would quote would be the entire budget, since the product assumes no third-party subscription to function. The only public order of magnitude comes from Vendr, a marketplace that aggregates software purchases actually signed: it records a median contract value of $30,105 a year across 57 purchases observed, or roughly $2,509 a month.

So the useful comparison is about how many terms there are in the sum. With Trellus, you know the first one and not the other two, the host platform and the Business plan. With Nooks, you know none of them, but there is only one and a public median places it. An advertised price is not a known budget, and a missing price is not an unknown budget.

That leaves what the pairing itself reveals. The list of platforms Trellus bolts onto is public, and Nooks is not on it. So the two products do not replace each other, and no more do they combine under the terms published as of 7 September 2026: it is your sales engagement platform, not your dialer, that decides whether Trellus is usable where you work.

Which one for which use

Two situations, two answers

Nooks is the right choice if

  • you are looking for a tool that calls on its own, with no sales engagement platform to maintain and pay for alongside it
  • your sales team is large and works mainly through American lists
  • an annual budget of several tens of thousands of dollars is within your order of magnitude, the median recorded by Vendr being $30,105 a year
  • measured user satisfaction is your first criterion: 4.8 out of 5 across more than 1,500 G2 reviews as of 7 September 2026

Trellus is the right choice if

  • you already pay for Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot, Apollo or another platform on its supported list, and you have no plan to change
  • your subject is how conversations are conducted rather than how many calls get placed in a day
  • you want to try the approach on one or two reps before committing the whole team, at $99.99 per user per month
  • your workstations are standardised on Chrome, the only browser the extension installs on

The limits

What each one does not do

Nooks limits

  • No rate is published: no amount, no tier, no licence minimum. Getting a figure means entering a sales cycle, which rules out any budget comparison beforehand.
  • The body of reviews is almost entirely American and English speaking: more than 1,500 reviews on G2 but only two on Capterra as of 7 September 2026. Nothing there documents coverage of European numbers or support from a European time zone.
  • The region where data is hosted is not published, nor is the cloud provider. Certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework attests to European data being processed in the United States.
  • The number of lines dialled in parallel is not published in the sales documentation accessible without an account, even though that is the criterion separating dialers from one another.

Trellus limits

  • The product does not work on its own: it needs an active subscription to one of the supported platforms, whose cost stacks on top of its own and often doubles the real budget per rep.
  • Real-time coaching and team analytics, which are the whole point of the product, appear only in the Business plan, for which no price is published.
  • It ships as a Chrome extension: no Firefox, no Safari, and no use outside the browser.
  • No significant independent body of reviews exists as of 7 September 2026: zero reviews on Trustpilot, zero on Capterra, and seven on Product Hunt for a rating of 4.4 out of 5.

What neither of them does

  • Neither of the two publishes the region where its data is hosted. Both are American companies, and both cases rest on a transfer mechanism: the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for Nooks, the standard contractual clauses for Trellus.
  • Neither of the two replaces a phone system. Dialing several numbers at once says nothing about receiving, and the vendor behind Trellus does not present itself as a business telephony operator: handling extensions, transfers and reception stays outside its scope.
  • Neither of the two offers any European field experience to read. Nooks has more than 1,500 reviews, almost all American, and Trellus has next to none: in both cases, nothing public covers calls placed from France.
  • Neither of the two gives a complete budget on its website as of 7 September 2026. Nooks advertises no amount, and Trellus advertises its individual plans without the price of the Business plan or that of the platform it assumes.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers

Which is cheaper, Nooks or Trellus?

A direct comparison is impossible, because the two do not sell the same scope. As of 7 September 2026, Trellus advertises $99.99 per user per month for its Power plan and $149.99 for its Parallel plan, with a promotional rate of $34.99, but those amounts assume a subscription to a sales engagement platform paid for separately. Nooks advertises no rate at all: the only public order of magnitude is the median contract value of $30,105 a year recorded by the marketplace Vendr across 57 purchases observed. A single rep will pay less with Trellus; a team that also has to buy the host platform must add the two subscriptions together before concluding anything.

Can Trellus replace Nooks?

No, not under the terms published as of 7 September 2026. Nooks is a standalone prospecting platform. Trellus is a browser extension that bolts onto Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot, Apollo, Salesforce, Zoho, VanillaSoft or Amplemarket, and does not work without one of them. Replacing Nooks with Trellus therefore means buying one of those platforms first, then adding the Trellus licence on top.

Can you run Trellus on top of Nooks?

Nooks does not appear in the list of supported platforms published by Trellus as of 7 September 2026, which covers Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot, Apollo, Salesforce, Zoho, VanillaSoft and Amplemarket, plus Clay and Google Sheets as contact sources. So the two products do not combine as they are sold. If that is your plan, get it confirmed in writing by the vendor before committing to anything.

Which one should you choose to prospect from France?

Neither of the two is designed for the French market, and both call for the same checks. As of 7 September 2026, neither publishes the region where its data is hosted: Nooks is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, Trellus frames its transfers with the standard contractual clauses from New York. Public reviews from European users are all but non-existent on both sides. Get written confirmation of the coverage of the numbers you will call, the language and hours of support, and how long recordings are kept.

How many lines does each one dial in parallel?

Trellus advertises up to five simultaneous lines on its Parallel plan, listed at $149.99 per user per month as of 7 September 2026, while its Power plan dials one number at a time. Nooks offers parallel dialing with voicemail filtering, but publishes no ceiling on lines in the sales documentation accessible without an account. Ask for that number, and whether it is configurable, during the demo.

What are the customer reviews of Nooks and Trellus worth?

They are not comparable in volume. As of 7 September 2026, Nooks shows 4.8 out of 5 across more than 1,500 G2 reviews, one of the best ratings in the dialer category, with the badges for best adoption and easiest implementation, but only two reviews on Capterra. Trellus, founded in 2022, has no reviews on Trustpilot or Capterra, and 4.4 out of 5 across seven Product Hunt reviews. In both cases, the public field experience is American and says nothing about European use.

Where is the data of each one hosted?

Neither vendor publishes it as of 7 September 2026. The Nooks trust centre reports a SOC 2 Type 2 certification, an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification and certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, without naming a cloud provider or a region, that certification attesting to a transfer of European data to the United States. The Trellus data processing agreement names no country and no provider, identifies Outpost Labs Inc. in New York as the importer, and frames transfers from the European Union with the standard contractual clauses.

Can you move from one to the other?

The move is not symmetrical. Going from Nooks to Trellus means buying a supported sales engagement platform first, since Trellus does not work on its own: the number of subscriptions goes up rather than down. Going from Trellus to Nooks means replacing both the extension and the platform it was bolted onto, so changing the whole working setup. In both directions, ask for an export of recordings and transcripts while the account is still active.
