We build Skipcall, and we sell to the same teams as Aircall and Ringover. We therefore have a commercial interest in you choosing neither, and you should read this page knowing that.

That is why Skipcall appears nowhere in the comparison below: not in the table, not in the verdict, not in the questions. Every claim here points to a dated public source, listed at the foot of the page. If something looks wrong, write to us: we will correct it and date the correction.

In short

The essentials in five sentences

  • Aircall and Ringover are both French companies: Aircall was founded in 2014 in Paris, Ringover in 2005 and is published by BJT PARTNERS, headquartered in Montrouge. The vendor's nationality therefore does not separate the two offers.
  • Ringover publishes its prices in euros, from €21 per user per month on the Smart plan with annual billing. Aircall publishes its own in dollars, from $30 per licence per month on the Essentials plan, also with annual billing.
  • Aircall imposes a three-licence minimum from its entry plan onwards, which brings its real entry ticket to $90 a month, whereas Ringover's Smart plan shows no minimum at all. On the plans that contain a dialer, both vendors impose three licences.
  • As of 8 September 2026, neither of the two allows several numbers to be dialled in parallel from France: Aircall offers it on no plan, and Ringover's add-on is capped at two simultaneous calls and restricted to the United States, Spain and the United Kingdom.
  • Ringover hosts all of its data in centres located in France, with no transfer outside the European Union. At Aircall, recordings belonging to accounts created before 3 May 2022 are stored on AWS US West, in Oregon.

Which of the two

Take Ringover if you are starting with one or two licences, or if your recordings have to stay in France: the Smart plan at €21 shows no minimum and hosting is entirely French. Take Aircall if your team already has three users, if you call from several countries, and if audio quality and the depth of the integration catalogue come before data location. If your deciding criterion is parallel dialing from France, neither answers it as of 8 September 2026.

The point that decides

Two French vendors, but only one bills in euros

A buyer comparing Aircall and Ringover is usually trying to work out which of the two is the French one. That question does not separate them: they both are. What really separates them lies elsewhere, in the billing currency, in the country where recordings are stored, and in the exact place where the three-licence minimum bites.

Aircall was founded in 2014 in Paris and claims more than 23,000 customers in over 110 countries from nine offices. Ringover was founded in 2005 by Jean-Samuel Najnudel and Renaud Charvet, is published by BJT PARTNERS in Montrouge, and claims more than 14,000 business customers and over 350 staff. Two French companies, then, one of which has taken on a broader international dimension while the other has held a longer position on its home market.

The first concrete gap is currency. Ringover publishes €21, €44 and €54 per user per month. Aircall publishes $30 and $50 per licence per month. For a team budgeting in euros that means two things: the Aircall budget line moves with the exchange rate from one year to the next, and the two price lists cannot be compared as displayed, since the ratio between them depends on the day you convert.

The second gap is hosting, and it is the one that most bluntly contradicts the initial assumption. Ringover states that all of the data centres holding the data its services require are located in France, with no transfer outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, at hosting providers certified ISO 27001, PCI-DSS and HDS. At Aircall, the recordings and voice messages of accounts created before 3 May 2022 are stored on AWS US West, in Oregon, unless explicit agreement is given for Frankfurt or Sydney, and the vendor says it is working towards a migration to European infrastructure. Two French companies, two opposite answers to the data location question.

The third gap is the licence minimum, and it does not sit where you would expect. On the plans that contain a dialer, both vendors impose three licences: $150 a month at Aircall on the Professional plan, €132 a month at Ringover on the Business plan, with a twelve-month commitment. So the minimum does not settle anything for a prospecting team. It settles things at the entry level: Ringover's Smart plan shows no minimum and can be bought at €21, whereas Aircall's Essentials plan imposes three, which is $90 a month for a single real user.

Which one for which use

Two situations, two answers

Aircall is the right choice if

  • your team already has at least three users, which makes the licence minimum painless from the entry plan onwards
  • audio quality is your first criterion: it is the best-rated point in the category on G2, at 9.1 out of 10 across more than 1,500 reviews
  • your software stack is unusual and you need the catalogue depth of a vendor that has been integrating since 2014
  • you call from several countries: the vendor claims more than 23,000 customers in over 110 countries and nine offices
  • budgeting in dollars causes your finance team no difficulty

Ringover is the right choice if

  • you are starting with one or two licences: the Smart plan at €21 per user per month shows no minimum
  • your legal team requires data to stay in France, with no transfer outside the European Union
  • you want an invoice in euros, with no exposure to the exchange rate
  • you are looking for a complete business phone system, switchboard and routing included, rather than a prospecting dialer
  • public reviews weigh in your decision: 4.6 out of 5 on G2 and 4.0 out of 5 on Trustpilot as of 7 September 2026

The limits

What each one does not do

Aircall limits

  • Aircall offers parallel dialing on none of its plans as of 8 September 2026. Its power dialer, available from the Professional plan, dials one number at a time.
  • The three-licence minimum applies from the entry plan onwards and is not shown next to the unit price: a single user on Essentials pays $90 a month, and $150 a month on Professional.
  • The Trustpilot rating is 2.9 out of 5 across 1,081 reviews, with 29% of them one-star. Those reviews rarely concern features and almost always billing, automatic renewal and support response times.
  • The recordings and voice messages of accounts created before 3 May 2022 are stored in the United States, on AWS US West in Oregon, unless explicit agreement is given for Frankfurt or Sydney.

Ringover limits

  • Ringover's parallel dialer is not offered in France as of 8 September 2026: the vendor's help centre restricts it to the United States, Spain and the United Kingdom.
  • Where it is open, that parallel dialer is capped at two simultaneous calls and billed as an add-on, on top of the plan.
  • The Business plan, the first to open up the prospecting features, imposes three licences and a twelve-month commitment, so €132 a month at minimum.
  • The Trustpilot rating is 4.0 out of 5, but with 17% of reviews at one star. Those reviews almost never concern the calling features and cluster on entering and leaving the contract.

What neither of them does

  • Neither allows several numbers to be dialled in parallel from France as of 8 September 2026. Aircall offers it on no plan, and Ringover only opens its add-on in the United States, Spain and the United Kingdom.
  • Neither gives access to its prospecting plan on a single licence: three have to be paid for on both sides, so $150 a month at Aircall and €132 a month at Ringover.
  • Neither includes a dialer in its entry plan: at Aircall it starts on the second plan, at Ringover it is sold as an add-on on top of the plan.
  • Both sell on a fixed term with renewal, and that is precisely where the negative reviews cluster on both sides, not on the calling features.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers

Aircall or Ringover: which is cheaper?

It depends on the size of your team, and the two price lists are not in the same currency. As of 8 September 2026, Ringover publishes its Smart plan at €21 per user per month on annual billing, with no licence minimum shown, whereas Aircall's Essentials plan is $30 per licence per month with a three-licence minimum, so $90 a month. On the plans that contain a dialer, the entry ticket is $150 a month at Aircall (Professional plan, three licences) and €132 a month at Ringover (Business plan, three licences and a twelve-month commitment). The comparison in euros depends on the exchange rate of the day, since Aircall publishes its prices in dollars.

Which of the two should you choose to prospect from France?

Neither will give you parallel dialing from France as of 8 September 2026: Aircall offers it on no plan, and Ringover's add-on is restricted to the United States, Spain and the United Kingdom. If a dialer that calls one number at a time is enough for you, both offer one, from the Professional plan at Aircall and on the prospecting plans at Ringover. If parallel dialing is your deciding criterion, this comparison does not hold your answer.

Is Aircall an American company?

No. Aircall is a French company founded in 2014 in Paris, claiming more than 23,000 customers in over 110 countries and nine offices. The vendor's nationality says nothing about where the data sits, however: the recordings and voice messages of Aircall accounts created before 3 May 2022 are stored on AWS US West, in Oregon, unless explicit agreement is given for Frankfurt or Sydney.

Which of the two hosts data in France?

Ringover. The vendor states that all of the data centres holding the data its services require are located in France, with no transfer outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, at hosting providers certified ISO 27001, PCI-DSS and HDS. At Aircall, the recordings of accounts created before 3 May 2022 sit on AWS in the United States, and the vendor says it is working towards a migration to European infrastructure. For an account opened today, ask in both cases for written confirmation of the storage region for recordings and transcripts.

Which one imposes a licence minimum?

Both, but not at the same point of the price list. Aircall imposes three licences from its Essentials entry plan onwards, which brings the entry ticket to $90 a month. Ringover shows no minimum on its Smart plan at €21, but imposes three licences and a twelve-month commitment on the Business and Advanced plans, the only ones that open up the prospecting features. A team of one or two reps therefore pays for three licences at Aircall whatever the plan, and only from the Business plan onwards at Ringover.

Which of the two is better rated by its customers?

Ringover, on both reference platforms, but across different volumes. As of 7 September 2026, Ringover scores 4.6 out of 5 on G2 across close to 500 reviews and 4.0 out of 5 on Trustpilot across 1,079 reviews, 70% of them five-star. Aircall scores 4.4 out of 5 on G2 across more than 1,500 reviews and 2.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot across 1,081 reviews, 29% of them one-star. The most striking gap is on Trustpilot, where the negative reviews of both vendors concern the contract and not the product.

Can you move from Aircall to Ringover, or the other way round?

Yes, your numbers belong to you and port from one carrier to another. What sets the timetable is not the availability of the new tool but the anniversary date of your current contract and the applicable notice period: both vendors sell on a fixed term with renewal. Ask for an export of your recordings, call logs and notes while the account is still active, and start the number porting before you cancel.

Which should you choose if your team is smaller than three people?

Ringover, if your need is limited to a business phone system: its Smart plan at €21 per user per month on annual billing shows no licence minimum, whereas Aircall's Essentials plan imposes three, so $90 a month whatever the number of real users. That advantage disappears as soon as you go after the prospecting features: Ringover's Business plan imposes three licences too, with a twelve-month commitment.
