Skipcall

Connected through the open API

Connecting Skipcall to Calendly

Call the people who booked, call back the ones who did not turn up. No native integration, but no integration project either: the Skipcall REST API is open and documented, and an automation platform, or a coding assistant, is enough to bridge the two.

In brief

  • Skipcall has no native integration with Calendly.
  • The Skipcall REST API, on the other hand, is open, documented and complete: everything the product does can be driven from outside.
  • The connection can be built without writing a line of code, with n8n, Zapier or Make.
  • To call the API directly, a coding assistant such as Claude or Codex writes the script from the documentation in a few minutes.
  • What goes to Skipcall: the people who booked, or who did not turn up.
  • What comes back into Calendly: the outcome of the call back or of the preparation call.
  • Allow an hour for a first working scenario, and a few minutes if you have the script written for you.

Why connect Calendly to Skipcall

Calendly produces two events that matter for the phone: a booking, and a no-show. The first deserves a preparation call when the stakes justify it; the second deserves a call back within minutes, because the window to recover a missed meeting is counted in minutes.

Calendly belongs to the “productivity and collaboration” family of our integrations. What was said on the phone reaches the place your team already works in.

How it connects

There are two routes, and neither is slower than the other. Neither means waiting for a connector to be built, nor tying up a technical team for weeks.

Without writing code

Through an automation platform

They call the Skipcall API on one side and the Calendly API on the other. You assemble the scenario with the mouse, with no server to host and no developer to book.

With a coding assistant

By calling the API directly

Hand the API documentation to a coding assistant: it writes the script in a few minutes. That is often the quicker route, and it avoids paying for a platform.

What travels between the two tools

A connection through an API has one advantage over a fixed connector: you decide what travels, in which direction, and into which field. Nothing leaves that you have not planned, which also keeps your record of processing activities simple.

Direction What travels
Calendly → Skipcall the people who booked, or who did not turn up
Skipcall → Calendly the outcome of the call back or of the preparation call
Available in the API call outcome, date, duration, recording, transcript and AI-written summary

Three concrete uses

  1. Call back within ten minutes the person who did not turn up.
  2. Call high-stakes bookings ahead of the meeting.
  3. Chase by phone the meetings cancelled with no new date.

Getting started

Allow an hour for a first working scenario, a few minutes if you have a coding assistant write the script. The time goes on deciding what you want to move between the two tools, not on writing code.

  1. Create your Skipcall API key From your Skipcall workspace, you generate a key that opens the API. It gives access to contacts, call lists and outcomes.
  2. Connect Calendly to Skipcall In n8n, Zapier or Make, an HTTP module calls the Skipcall API on one side and the Calendly API on the other. No code to write, no server to host. If you would rather call the API directly, a coding assistant such as Claude or Codex writes the script from the documentation.
  3. Send the outcome back At the end of every call, Skipcall exposes the outcome, the duration, the transcript and the summary. The same scenario sends them into Calendly, wherever you chose to put them.

20 to 25

calls an hour when dialling by hand

60 to 80

with a power dialer, one number at a time

150 to 200

with a four-line parallel dialer

Those rates explain why sending the outcome back automatically matters so much. At twenty-five calls a day, a rep can still log them by hand in Calendly. At a hundred and fifty they will not, and your data becomes wrong without anyone noticing.

What to know before you start

No native integration

Skipcall has no ready-made connector for Calendly. The four native integrations are HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce and Attio. For everything else the open API does the work: expect a set-up rather than a button, but one measured in minutes or an hour, not weeks.

Before you switch recording on

Recording a call requires a documented lawful basis under the UK GDPR, information given to the people concerned beforehand, and a defined retention period; PECR governs the marketing calls themselves, with the ICO as the supervisory authority. These duties apply even when the recording is only used for internal training, and they do not disappear because the file travels through Calendly.

Beyond Calendly

What syncs is set out on the CRM integration page, and the open API page describes what the interface exposes. The MCP connector also opens your call data up to an assistant, to question it in plain language.

For what gets said once the line is open, the call script library gathers twenty ready-made frameworks. Plan details are on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

When should you call back after a no-show?

Within five to ten minutes of the scheduled time, while the slot is still free in the other person's diary. The next day it is no longer a rescheduling, it is an ordinary follow-up.

Should you call before every booked meeting?

No. Keep that call for high-stakes meetings: on the others it uses up time without changing the outcome.

Is there a native integration between Skipcall and Calendly?

No. The Skipcall native integrations are HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce and Attio. For Calendly, the connection goes through the open REST API, either directly or through an automation platform.

How long does it take to connect the two tools?

Allow an hour for a first working scenario, and a few minutes if you have a coding assistant write the script. In most cases it is the scoping, not the technical work, that takes the time.

Do you need a developer?

Not in most cases. n8n, Zapier and Make call the API without a line of code. And to call the API directly, a coding assistant such as Claude or Codex writes the script from the documentation in a few minutes: that has become the faster of the two routes.

Is API access charged separately?

No. The open API is included in every plan, from the Starter plan at €75 per licence per month, from a single licence and with no commitment. Only the automation platform you choose, if you use one, has a price of its own.
