Dialpad vs RingCentral
Two American suites with almost identical entry prices, $15 and €14.99. One price list is indexed on the feature, the other on headcount: what that changes.
We build Skipcall, and we sell to the same teams as Dialpad and RingCentral. We therefore have a commercial interest in you choosing neither, and you should read this page knowing that.
That is why Skipcall appears nowhere in the comparison below: not in the table, not in the verdict, not in the questions. Every claim here points to a dated public source, listed at the foot of the page. If something looks wrong, write to us: we will correct it and date the correction.
In short
The essentials in five sentences
- Dialpad and RingCentral are two American business communications suites whose published entry prices are almost identical as of 8 September 2026: $15 per licence per month for Dialpad's Connect Standard plan, €14.99 per licence per month for RingCentral's Standard plan in the 2 to 19 user band.
- The two price lists do not vary along the same axis: at RingCentral, the price per licence depends on the size of the team across four public bands (1 user, 2 to 19, 20 to 99, 100 and above), whereas at Dialpad it depends on which product and plan you take among Connect, Support and Sell.
- As of 8 September 2026, the plan comparison RingCentral publishes for France mentions no outbound dialer at all, including on the most expensive plan of the French price list, Ultimate at €24.99 per licence per month.
- At Dialpad, the dialer requires a Sell licence from $39 per licence per month billed annually, and the campaign dialer, the one that works through calls automatically and can assign several lines to one agent, is open to the Sell Premium plan only, at $150 per licence per month.
- On Trustpilot, Dialpad is rated 4.0 out of 5 over 3,156 reviews of which 9% are one-star, and RingCentral 1.7 out of 5 over 1,977 reviews of which 64% are one-star, the latter mostly about how hard support is to reach, about billing and about terminating the contract.
Which of the two
To equip a business phone system across several sites or several countries, RingCentral is the coherent choice of the two: it publishes a price list in euros on its French site and its price per licence drops from 20 users, then from 100, which rewards larger headcounts. As soon as the requirement involves outbound dialing, the comparison stops: no RingEX plan published for France contains a dialer, and the only question left is whether the budget for a Dialpad Sell licence, $39 for the plain dialer and $150 for the campaign dialer, is workable. For a small team that wants to keep control of its exit date, only one of the two contractual profiles is documented: RingCentral's, whose French terms and conditions provide for automatic renewal for a term identical to the initial one. Dialpad does not publish the equivalent, which does not mean it has none: ask it for its renewal clause in writing before signing, rather than reading that silence as a guarantee.
The point that decides
One price list indexed on headcount, the other on the feature
$15 and €14.99. To within a euro, the two suites start at the same price. That is a coincidence, and it misleads: these two numbers do not answer the same question.
At RingCentral, the price per licence depends on the size of the team. The French page publishes four bands: 1 user, 2 to 19, 20 to 99, and 100 and above. The price drops as headcount rises. To find out your rate, you have to say how many of you there are.
At Dialpad, the price per licence depends on the feature. Four products are billed separately, Connect for telephony, Support for the contact centre, Sell for sales and AI Agents for autonomous agents, and the price rises as the requirement broadens: $15 to make calls, $39 to work through a list, $150 for the campaign dialer. To find out your rate, you have to say what you want to do.
A buyer who sets $15 and €14.99 side by side is therefore comparing two numbers that do not measure the same thing. The comparison only means something once both variables are fixed: how many licences, and for what use. A 120-person company that wants a phone system and a team of 5 reps that wants to work through lists will not end up with the same ranking, and not because either vendor is the better product.
The point where the two axes meet is the only one that really settles it: outbound prospecting. Climbing the RingCentral price list never makes a dialer appear, since the comparison published for France mentions none, all the way up to the Ultimate plan at €24.99. Climbing the Dialpad price list does make one appear, but on the tenth floor, at $150 per licence per month. With one, the feature does not exist so there is no budget to discuss; with the other, it exists and the budget is all that is left to discuss.

Which one for which use
Two situations, two answers
Dialpad is the right choice if
- your requirement involves outbound dialing: it is the only one of the two to offer any
- you want a full suite, telephony, video meetings, team messaging and contact centre, in a single catalogue
- real-time transcription and automatic call summaries weigh on your decision
- you would rather have a vendor where only 9% of 3,156 Trustpilot reviews are one-star
- you want to be able to ask for your data to be stored in a region other than the United States
RingCentral is the right choice if
- you are equipping a business phone system and not a prospecting team
- your headcount goes beyond 20 and then 100 users: the price per licence drops at those two bands
- you want a rate published in euros, on a French site, with no exposure to the exchange rate
- your organisation spans several countries and you want a single contract over part of the 46 countries served
- the vendor's financial standing matters: a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2013, with more than 600,000 customers
The limits
What each one does not do
Dialpad limits
- Prices are published in dollars only. As of 8 September 2026 no price list in euros is published for France, which leaves the exchange rate and the tax treatment for the buyer to carry.
- The dialer does not belong to the telephony product: you need a Dialpad Sell licence from $39 per licence per month, and $150 for the campaign dialer, which is ten times the advertised entry price of $15.
- Permanent data, meaning contacts, call logs, recordings and transcripts, is stored in the United States on Google Cloud by default. Another region only applies if the account administrator has selected it.
- Round-the-clock phone support, seven days a week, is open to Enterprise accounts only, Pro plans getting round-the-clock support five days a week. Support response times are the most frequent reason for the negative reviews recorded on Trustpilot.
RingCentral limits
- The plan comparison published for France mentions no outbound dialer, whichever the plan, up to Ultimate at €24.99 per licence per month. A prospecting team does not find the feature by climbing the price list.
- The French terms and conditions provide for automatic renewal for a term identical to the initial one, 30 days notice not to renew, and payment of the sums outstanding to the end of the term on early termination.
- The Trustpilot rating is 1.7 out of 5 over 1,977 reviews as of 8 September 2026, of which 64% are one-star. The recurring reasons are how hard support is to reach, the termination procedure and billing.
- A small team pays the highest rate on the price list: the price per licence only drops from 20 users, then from 100. The French price list is built to reward headcount, not small contracts.
What neither of them does
- A dialer included in the entry telephony plan. At RingCentral, the French comparison mentions none on any plan; at Dialpad, you have to leave the Connect catalogue and buy a Sell licence.
- A prospecting rate published in euros. Dialpad publishes its three catalogues in dollars; RingCentral does publish in euros, but none of its French plans contains a prospecting feature.
- Permanent data hosted in the European Union by default. Dialpad stores in the United States on Google Cloud unless the administrator selects otherwise, RingCentral in the United States, Switzerland and the Netherlands under standard contractual clauses.
- Publicly advertised support in French: neither vendor states it in the sources consulted on 8 September 2026.

Frequently asked questions
Short answers
Dialpad or RingCentral: which is cheaper in 2026?
There is no single answer, because the two price lists do not vary along the same axis. As of 8 September 2026 the entry prices are almost identical, $15 per licence per month for Dialpad's Connect Standard plan and €14.99 for RingCentral's Standard plan in the 2 to 19 user band. After that, the RingCentral price drops when headcount crosses 20 and then 100 users, whereas the Dialpad price rises when the requirement broadens, up to $150 per licence per month for the Sell Premium plan. A large phone system costs less at RingCentral; a small team that needs a dialer only finds the feature at Dialpad.
Which of the two offers a dialer for outbound prospecting?
Dialpad, and only Dialpad. The plan comparison RingCentral publishes for France mentions no outbound dialer, whichever the plan: RingEX is a business phone system, with a voice menu, recording, video meetings and team messaging. At Dialpad, the dialer requires a Sell licence from $39 per licence per month billed annually, and the campaign dialer, which works through calls automatically and can assign several lines to one agent, is open to the Sell Premium plan only, at $150 per licence per month.
Which one for a team based in France?
RingCentral publishes a price list in euros on its French site, with four bands according to team size, which Dialpad does not do as of 8 September 2026: its three catalogues are published in dollars. On hosting, neither stores permanent data in France by default, Dialpad placing it in the United States on Google Cloud unless the account administrator selects another region, and RingCentral in the United States, Switzerland and the Netherlands under standard contractual clauses. Neither publicly advertises support in French in the sources consulted.
Do Dialpad and RingCentral impose a fixed-term commitment?
Both publish a higher price without an annual commitment: €18.99 instead of €14.99 per licence at RingCentral on the Standard plan in the 2 to 19 user band, and $27 instead of $15 at Dialpad on the Connect Standard plan, $49 instead of $39 on Sell Essentials. The real difference lies elsewhere: RingCentral's French terms and conditions provide for automatic renewal for a term identical to the initial one, 30 days notice and payment of the sums outstanding to the end of the term on early termination. The public Dialpad sources consulted publish no equivalent clause, which means it has to be asked for in writing before signing, not that it does not exist.
Why is RingCentral rated 1.7 on Trustpilot and Dialpad 4.0?
RingCentral is rated 1.7 out of 5 over 1,977 reviews, of which 64% are one-star, and Dialpad 4.0 out of 5 over 3,156 reviews, of which 9% are one-star. In both cases the criticism is rarely about the calling features and almost always about the contractual relationship: how hard support is to reach, billing and termination. The gap therefore owes less to the product than to the contract, and it lines up with a precise clause in RingCentral's French terms and conditions, which provides for automatic renewal for an identical term and settlement of the sums outstanding to the end of it. Trustpilot collects unprompted feedback, often filed at the moment of a dispute: that rating measures the commercial relationship, not the technical quality of the service.
Which review sources allow these two vendors to be compared?
Trustpilot alone, as of 8 September 2026. Dialpad is rated 4.0 out of 5 there over 3,156 reviews and RingCentral 1.7 out of 5 over 1,977 reviews. Dialpad also shows 4.4 out of 5 on G2 over more than 4,100 reviews, one of the highest volumes in the category, but RingCentral's G2 rating could not be recorded from a consultable public source at the time of the check. Comparing a G2 rating with a Trustpilot one would mean nothing: the two platforms do not recruit their contributors the same way.
Can you move from RingCentral to Dialpad, or the other way round?
Yes, and the real timetable is set by the contract, not by the technology. Numbers port from one operator to another: start the process before you terminate, because a number released before porting completes can be lost for good. If you are leaving RingCentral, note the expiry date of your order first, because the French terms and conditions require 30 days notice not to renew and make the sums outstanding to the end of the term fall due on an early exit. In both directions, also list what the suite carries with it: video meetings, team messaging and inbound calls all have to be rehoused before you switch.
How many licences are required as a minimum at each?
RingCentral's French terms and conditions set no minimum number of users, and the pricing page does publish a price band for a single user; in return, that band is the most expensive on the price list, the price per licence only dropping from 20 users and then from 100. The public Dialpad sources consulted on 8 September 2026 publish no minimum number of licences. In both cases, have the number of licences billed confirmed in writing, along with the conditions under which it can be reduced during the contract.
