Stage 6 · Sequences and follow-ups

Build your cadence

A sequence is judged by its rhythm as much as its content. Here you build yours day by day and the tool tells you what is off before a prospect does.

How it works

The timeline has fourteen working days. Pick a touch from the palette (call, email, LinkedIn visit, LinkedIn message, voicemail, SMS) then click a day to place it. You can stack two on the same day, for example a call followed by a voicemail.

On every change the tool checks the rules from the previous lesson: the first touch is a call, never two emails in a row without a call in between, no more than one touch a day except a call followed by a voicemail or an email, between six and ten touches, a silence of at least two days after the fourth, and a closing message at the end.

How you are scored

Each rule you respect earns points, up to one hundred. The verdict and three tips update live. The "show a suggested cadence" button displays an annotated reference sequence you can edit.

When your cadence feels right, validate it: the lesson is marked complete with your score, and you can export it to your calendar with the site’s cadence generator.

Key takeaways

  • The first touch is a call; the email follows, it does not lead.
  • A two-day silence in the middle of the sequence beats one more touch.
  • The last touch announces the end and leaves the door open.

Your cadence over fourteen working days

Pick a touch, then click a day. Two touches on the same day only for a call followed by a voicemail or an email.

A cadence that wears people out

The rhythm or the channel mix does not hold. Follow the tips below, one rule at a time.

The rules, live

  • The first touch is a call0/20
  • Never two emails in a row without a call0/15
  • One touch a day, except call + voicemail or email0/15
  • Between six and ten touches0/15
  • Two days of silence after the fourth touch0/15
  • A closing message on its own, at the end0/10
  • At least three channels0/10

Three tips for this cadence

  • Start with a call: it is the only channel where the prospect answers live. The email confirms, it does not open.
  • Two emails in a row read as automation. Slip a call between them.
  • More than one touch a day feels like harassment from the prospect’s side. Keep one touch, two at most when a call is followed by a voicemail or an email.
