# Manage your tasks and reminders

Create, complete, reschedule and reassign reminder tasks in Skipcall, then keep going with a follow-up task suggested automatically.

Updated on October 27, 2026

The **Tasks** screen lists your reminders by due date. You complete a task in one click, and Skipcall immediately offers to create a follow-up task.

## The Tasks screen

Open **Tasks** from the left menu. The orange badge next to **Tasks** counts your open tasks that are overdue or due today, and it goes down as soon as you complete one.

- **Tabs**: **Overdue**, **Today** and **Upcoming** (each with a counter), then **Completed**. A task due today that you’ve completed stays in **Today**, crossed out.
- **Search** (name, phone…) and **Filters** (filter by **Owner**).
- **Columns**: a checkbox, a phone icon, a **Mark as done** circle, then **Title**, **Contacts**, **Owner** (or **Unassigned**) and **Reminder date** (sortable). An excerpt of the task’s notes may appear under the title.

In a brand-new account, you may see tasks labeled “(Sample task)”: they’re there to help you explore the screen.

## Create a task

1. Click **Create a task** in the top right corner.
2. Enter a **Title** (required).
3. Add **Notes** if you like.
4. Click **Add contacts** to link one or more contacts (or none).
5. Pick the **Reminder date** (today at 9:00 AM by default) and the **Owner**.
6. Click **Create task**. A confirmation tells you the task was created.

Turn on the **Create another** toggle if you want to add several tasks in a row. You can also create a task from a [contact record](https://skipcall.io/en/help/contact-record).

## Complete a task

1. Click the **Mark as done** circle to the left of the title.
2. The row is crossed out and a message confirms your task was updated.
3. A pop-up asks whether you want to create a follow-up task, with a title, notes and a prefilled reminder date you can change.
4. Click **Create task** to accept, or **Not now**.

## Other actions

Each task’s **⋮** menu offers:

- **Reassign**: change the owner.
- **Reschedule**: pick a new reminder date and time, then **Save**.
- **Create a follow-up task**.
- **Delete**.

### Reopen a completed task

On the **Completed** tab, click the green check mark at the start of the row (the **Reopen task** button). Completed tasks show **Done on** with the date and time.

### Act on several tasks at once

On the **Overdue**, **Today** and **Upcoming** tabs, check some tasks to bring up the **Selection** bar with **Select all**, **Create a sequence**, **Mark as completed**, **Reopen**, **Reassign** and **Delete**.

## Common questions
