# CloudTalk vs Dialpad

CloudTalk and Dialpad show the same rating on G2. Review volume, what those reviews talk about and the price of transcription tell two opposite stories.

We build Skipcall, and we sell to the same teams as CloudTalk and Dialpad. We therefore have a commercial interest in you choosing neither, and you should read this page knowing that.

That is why Skipcall appears nowhere in the comparison below: not in the table, not in the verdict, not in the questions. Every claim here points to a dated public source, listed at the foot of the page. If something looks wrong, write to us: we will correct it and date the correction.

In short

## The essentials in five sentences

- CloudTalk and Dialpad score the same rating on G2 as of 7 September 2026, 4.4 out of 5, but not across the same volume: more than 1,600 reviews for CloudTalk, more than 4,100 for Dialpad.
- On Trustpilot as of 7 September 2026, CloudTalk shows the better average, 4.1 out of 5 against 4.0, and the higher share of one-star reviews, 16% against 9% for Dialpad.
- Dialpad includes call transcription from its Connect Standard plan onwards, at $15 per licence per month billed annually, where CloudTalk sells it as an add-on at €9 per licence per month on top of the plan.
- The dialer that works through a call list is paid for with both vendors: €39 per licence per month as an add-on with CloudTalk, $150 per licence per month with the Sell Premium plan at Dialpad, rates recorded on 7 September 2026.
- CloudTalk is published by a Slovak company founded in 2016 in Bratislava and stores its recordings in Germany, while Dialpad is an American vendor founded in 2011 in California whose permanent data sits in the United States, unless another region has been selected by the account administrator.

Which of the two

If transcription and automatic call summaries are what you are coming for, Dialpad includes them from its entry plan at $15 per licence per month, where CloudTalk bills them at €9 as an add-on. If you prospect across a lot of countries and your recordings have to stay in the European Union, CloudTalk covers more than 160 countries and stores its recordings in Germany. And if the dialer is what decides the purchase, compare the two totals rather than the two headline prices: €49 for the Expert plan plus €39 for the add-on per licence at CloudTalk, $150 per licence for the Sell Premium plan at Dialpad.

The point that decides

## Same G2 rating, two bodies of reviews measuring different things

CloudTalk and Dialpad both score 4.4 out of 5 on G2 as of 7 September 2026. Behind that identical figure, neither the number of reviews, nor what they are about, nor the shape of the distribution look alike. That is what makes comparing the ratings misleading and reading the reviews useful.

Start with volume, because it conditions everything else. The CloudTalk rating on G2 rests on more than 1,600 reviews, the Dialpad rating on more than 4,100. On Trustpilot the gap is wider still: 785 reviews on one side, 3,156 on the other. An average calculated across 785 responses moves quickly, an average calculated across 3,156 moves slowly. The two figures do not compare as two measurements of equal precision.

Then look at the distribution rather than the average, because the two say the opposite of each other. On Trustpilot, CloudTalk has the better rating, 4.1 out of 5 against 4.0 for Dialpad. But CloudTalk counts 16% of one-star reviews against 9% at Dialpad. In other words, the average leans towards CloudTalk while the share of outright unhappy customers leans towards Dialpad. For a buyer it is the second piece of information that counts: it describes what happens when something goes wrong.

With both vendors, those one-star reviews are in fact about the same subject. They talk about billing, refunds, renewal and support response times, almost never about the calling features. The product is not what is at fault with either one: the contract is, and so the contract is where your effort should go before you sign, whichever of the two you pick.

That leaves the most interesting point: the positive reviews are not about the same thing. At Dialpad, what comes up most often is real-time transcription and the quality of the call summaries, in other words artificial intelligence applied to the content of the conversation, and it is included from the entry plan at $15 per licence per month. At CloudTalk, what comes up most often is international number coverage, ease of setup and the depth of the integrations. CloudTalk does offer transcription and conversation intelligence, but as an add-on at €9 per licence per month, and that is not what its reviews are about. Two identical ratings, two products whose users have not rated the same promise.

Which one for which use

## Two situations, two answers

### CloudTalk is the right choice if

- you prospect across a lot of markets and number coverage is what decides, with more than 160 countries advertised
- your call recordings have to stay in the European Union, since they are stored in Germany
- you want to pay for transcription only on the seats that need it, the add-on being billed per licence
- you have a security questionnaire to fill in and the published SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications save you time
- your team is fewer than three people, since the Starter and Essential plans start at one licence

### Dialpad is the right choice if

- real-time transcription and automatic call summaries are what you are coming for, since they are included from the entry plan
- you want a large body of reviews before you sign, with more than 4,100 reviews on G2 and 3,156 on Trustpilot
- the share of unhappy customers matters more to you than the headline average, at 9% of one-star reviews
- your requirement goes beyond voice and covers video conferencing, team messaging and the contact centre
- a budget of $150 per licence per month is within your order of magnitude for the campaign dialer

The limits

## What each one does not do

### CloudTalk limits

- Transcription and parallel dialing are two separate add-ons that stack on top of the plan, at €9 and €39 per licence per month. The advertised €25 does not tell you what a properly equipped seat costs.
- The Expert plan, the only complete one, imposes a three-licence minimum. A team of two reps cannot get to it.
- Not all data stays in the European Union. Only recordings and artificial intelligence data are in Germany, the rest may be processed across four AWS regions including North Virginia, Singapore and Sydney.
- 16% of Trustpilot reviews are one star, a high proportion for this market, and they are about billing, refunds and support response times.

### Dialpad limits

- The campaign dialer, the one that works through a call list and can assign several lines to a single agent, is only open on the Sell Premium plan at $150 per licence per month, ten times the $15 headline price.
- The catalogue is split into four separately billed offerings, Connect, Support, Sell and AI Agents. Knowing exactly which licence contains the feature you expect calls for written confirmation before you sign.
- Permanent data, meaning contacts, call logs, recordings and transcripts, sits in the United States by default. Selecting another region is possible but depends on a setting held by the account administrator, so confirm it.
- 24/7 phone support is only open to Enterprise accounts, with Pro plans getting 24/5 support. Support response times come up in the negative reviews recorded on Trustpilot.

What neither of them does

- Neither of the two puts the dialer that changes a rep's productivity in its entry plan. At CloudTalk it is an add-on at €39 per licence per month, at Dialpad it is the Sell Premium plan at $150.
- Neither of the two hosts all of a French customer's data in France by default. CloudTalk keeps its recordings in Germany and Dialpad its permanent data in the United States.
- Both belong to the cloud telephony family: the company phone system, inbound calls included, is the heart of the product, and outbound campaigns are one use among others.
- Neither of the two publicly advertises support in French. Ask for the language and the hours of the support desk in writing before you sign.

Frequently asked questions

## Short answers

**CloudTalk or Dialpad, which one is cheaper?**

It depends on what you are equipping. On the headline price, Dialpad is below as of 7 September 2026: $15 per licence per month for the Connect Standard plan billed annually, against €25 for the CloudTalk Starter plan. On a prospecting seat fitted with the dialer, the order flips: the CloudTalk Expert plan at €49 plus the parallel dialing add-on at €39 comes to €88 per licence per month, against $150 per licence for the Dialpad Sell Premium plan, the only plan that contains the campaign dialer.

**Which of the two has the better reviews?**

Both score 4.4 out of 5 on G2 as of 7 September 2026, but not across the same volume: more than 1,600 reviews for CloudTalk and more than 4,100 for Dialpad. On Trustpilot, CloudTalk shows 4.1 out of 5 across 785 reviews and Dialpad 4.0 out of 5 across 3,156 reviews. So the average leans slightly towards CloudTalk, while the share of one-star reviews leans towards Dialpad, at 9% against 16%.

**Why does Dialpad have a lower Trustpilot rating than CloudTalk while having fewer negative reviews?**

Because an average and a distribution do not tell the same story. As of 7 September 2026, Dialpad shows 4.0 out of 5 on Trustpilot with 9% of one-star reviews across 3,156 responses, while CloudTalk shows 4.1 out of 5 with 16% of one-star reviews across 785 responses. The average also depends on the middle ratings and on volume, which is four times smaller at CloudTalk and therefore more sensitive. For a buyer, the share of one-star reviews is the more useful figure: it describes what happens when the relationship goes wrong.

**Which of the two includes call transcription?**

Dialpad includes it from its Connect Standard plan, at $15 per licence per month billed annually. CloudTalk sells it as an add-on, at €9 per licence per month on top of the plan you choose. That also explains why real-time transcription is the most cited point in the positive reviews of Dialpad, and why it does not appear in those of CloudTalk, whose feedback is more about international coverage and ease of setup.

**Which of the two offers a parallel dialer?**

CloudTalk offers a parallel dialing add-on, billed at €39 per licence per month on top of the plan, whose number of simultaneous calls is configurable in the settings. At Dialpad, the campaign dialer, which works through a call list and can assign several lines to a single agent, is only open on the Sell Premium plan at $150 per licence per month. In both cases the feature is not in the entry plan.

**Which one should you choose to prospect from France?**

Both let you call France. The difference plays out on data. CloudTalk stores call recordings and artificial intelligence data in Germany, so inside the European Union, with the other categories possibly processed across four AWS regions including North Virginia, Singapore and Sydney. Dialpad stores its permanent data in the United States on Google Cloud, unless the account administrator has selected another region. Neither of the two advertises support in French: ask for the language and the hours in writing.

**Can you move from CloudTalk to Dialpad, or the other way round?**

The first obstacle is contractual before it is technical: both vendors publish their prices on annual billing, so check the anniversary date and the notice period for non-renewal before you commit to anything. On the data side, ask for an export of the recordings, transcripts and call logs while the account is still active, and check the format you get: a lost history cannot be rebuilt.

**What do the negative reviews hold against each of the two?**

The same things, in different proportions. As of 7 September 2026, the 16% of one-star CloudTalk reviews on Trustpilot are about billing, refunds and support response times, rarely about the calling features. The 9% of one-star Dialpad reviews are about support response times, billing and subscription renewal, rarely about features. In both cases the risk to negotiate is contractual: exit terms, notice period for non-renewal and support response times.
