# Attio Phone Integration: How to Call From a CRM That Has No Phone

Attio has no built-in calling: its call recorder captures video meetings, not phone calls. To prospect by phone, you need a third-party app, Zapier or the API. A guide to the options that actually exist, what each one syncs into Attio, and their limits, checked on November 5, 2026.

Attio has no built-in phone calling: it cannot place or receive a phone call, and its call recorder only captures video meetings. To prospect by phone with Attio as your CRM, you need to connect an external phone system, through an app in its marketplace, through Zapier or through its API.

This guide covers those three routes, what each one actually syncs into Attio, and where they fall short. It is not a ranking: the Attio phone integration market is young, integrations vary a lot in depth, and many have no detailed documentation yet. We only describe what we could verify on Attio’s and vendors’ pages on November 5, 2026. It builds on our general guide to [phone system CRM integration](https://skipcall.io/en/blog/phone-system-crm-integration).

## Does Attio have built-in calling?

No. Attio is a CRM you build yourself: objects, attributes, lists and views are defined by the team. It handles email, meetings and, on the Pro plan, sequences. It does not handle the phone.

The confusion comes from the name of its **Call Intelligence** feature. According to [Attio’s help center](https://attio.com/help/reference/productivity-collaborating/call-intelligence/set-up-and-manage-call-recording), it is a recorder that joins video meetings as a participant on Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, records and transcribes them, and links them to the right records. A meeting on any other platform is not recorded. Neither is a phone call. On [Attio’s pricing page](https://attio.com/pricing), Call Intelligence is part of the Pro plan, at $79 per seat per month billed annually ($99 monthly), and Enterprise.

For a rep prospecting by phone, Call Intelligence only kicks in after the first meeting, once the conversation moves to video. Everything before that, cold calls, voicemails, follow-ups, has to go through another tool.

## Three ways to connect a phone to Attio

| Route | Setup | What syncs | Who it suits |
| - | - | - | - |
| Calling category app | A few minutes, by an admin | Varies a lot by app | Most teams |
| Zapier (or similar) | One to a few hours | Whatever you build: note, activity, attributes | Phone systems with no Attio app |
| Attio REST API | Development work | Whatever the API exposes | Teams with a developer |

### Calling category apps

The [Attio marketplace](https://attio.com/apps) has a Calling category that listed more than thirty apps on November 5, 2026. Be careful: it groups two different jobs. You will find meeting recorders (Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Granola, Fireflies.ai, Claap and others) next to phone systems (Aircall, Quo, Allo, JustCall, RingCentral, Ringover, CloudTalk, KrispCall and others). Only the latter place phone calls.

Apps are not all built by the same party. Some are official apps built by Attio, others are published by the phone vendor. It matters: an app built by Attio follows Attio’s data model, an app built by the vendor often follows the phone system’s.

### Zapier

[Zapier’s Attio app](https://zapier.com/apps/attio/integrations) offers 9 triggers and 12 actions, including Create Note, Create Activity, Create or Update Record and Find Records. If your phone system can trigger a Zap when a call ends, you can create a note or activity on the right record and update an attribute such as last call date.

It is the most flexible route, and the most fragile. You have to find the right record from a phone number (often badly formatted), handle calls to numbers Attio does not know, and pay Zapier per task. Renaming an attribute in Attio breaks the Zap without warning.

### Attio’s API

Attio provides a [public REST API](https://docs.attio.com/rest-api/overview) over JSON, with OAuth for apps and webhooks. It is what vendors use to build their integrations. For a team, it is an option if an in-house developer can write and maintain the connector: full control over mapping, at the cost of a real project.

## The phone integrations we could verify

Here is what the integration pages we could access actually say. This is not the full list: several apps in the category have no detailed page, or a page that does not say what syncs. We do not describe those.

### Aircall: the official app, logging as notes

The [Aircall app](https://attio.com/apps/aircall) is built by Attio. On a person or company record, a Call button opens Aircall with the number pre-filled, and you click inside Aircall to place the call: Attio says this is due to limits in Aircall’s API. The Aircall desktop app must be installed and open.

After the call, a note lands on the person record within a few minutes, with name, date, time, duration and any notes taken in Aircall, and only if the call connected. The page does not mention recordings or transcripts. Unanswered attempts therefore do not sync. See [Skipcall vs Aircall](https://skipcall.io/en/comparatif/skipcall-vs-aircall).

### RingCentral: starting the call, no sync described

Per [Attio’s help center](https://attio.com/help/apps/other-apps/ringcentral-app), the RingCentral app adds a “Call (RingCentral)” button on person and company records. RingCentral rings your app, you answer and press 1 to connect. It is available on all Attio plans, installed by an admin, and each member connects their own RingCentral account. The page does not describe any call sync back into Attio.

### Quo: contacts, calls, texts and summaries

The [Quo app](https://attio.com/apps/quo) pushes Attio contacts into Quo, logs calls, texts and voicemails on the matching records with call summaries, and lets you call a contact from Attio with your Quo number. It requires a Quo Business or Scale plan, and syncing can be switched on or off per phone number.

### CloudTalk: the most detailed sync

The [CloudTalk app](https://attio.com/apps/cloudtalk) is built by CloudTalk. It logs every call type on the person (inbound, outbound, missed, voicemail, transferred), texts, the recording link, and CloudTalk’s AI data: summary, sentiment, topics and transcript link. A custom Call object mode can write this data into typed attributes. Contacts sync both ways, de-duplicated by email. The page does not mention click-to-call. See [Skipcall vs CloudTalk](https://skipcall.io/en/comparatif/skipcall-vs-cloudtalk).

### Allo: notes with summary and transcript, power dialer add-on

According to [Allo’s Attio page](https://www.withallo.com/integrations/attio), each call creates a note with summary and transcript on the person, company and deal, and a column counts calls per record. With the Allo desktop app set as default, clicking a number in Attio starts the call. You can send records or an Attio list to Allo’s power dialer, a paid add-on at $50 per month for the whole team billed yearly per its [pricing page](https://www.withallo.com/pricing). The integration requires the Business plan ($32 per seat per month billed yearly) or higher. See [Skipcall vs Allo](https://skipcall.io/en/comparatif/skipcall-vs-allo).

## Skipcall and Attio: native integration, calls started in Skipcall

[Skipcall](https://skipcall.io/en/integrations/attio) is B2B phone prospecting software with a power dialer and a [parallel dialer](https://skipcall.io/en/parallel-dialer) of up to 4 lines. Its Attio integration is native: no development, no third-party connector, about five minutes to set up.

**How it works.** You connect your Attio workspace from Skipcall and choose what syncs: call outcome, recording, transcript, summary. An Attio working list becomes a calling session in Skipcall, with no file export. During the session, each call is written to Attio as it happens.

**The design choice.** Attio is meant to be shaped, and an integration that forces its own fields defeats the reason you picked it. Skipcall’s integration creates no objects or attributes of its own: it attaches calls to the person and the company, the two objects present in every Attio workspace, and to the deal if you use that object. The [call summary](https://skipcall.io/en/features/enregistrement-transcription) sits alongside your notes and emails.

**The limit to know.** Calls start in Skipcall, not from the Attio record. There is no button to call a contact you have open in Attio. That fits the intended use, working a list, but if your team calls one contact at a time from records, a phone system with click-to-call (Aircall, Quo, Allo) will fit better.

**Who it is not for.** Teams with heavy inbound volume: Skipcall has no IVR, no call queues and no inbound routing. Teams that want to call from the Attio record. Companies looking for a phone system for the whole business, beyond the sales team.

**Pricing.** The integration is included from the Business VoIP plan, [from $25 per user per month](https://skipcall.io/en/pricing) billed annually, with no seat minimum; the power dialer and the parallel dialer come with the Starter plan, from $70.

## How to choose

Three questions sort it out.

**1. Does your team call a list or a contact?** To work through a list, a dialer that starts from an Attio list saves more time than clicking each record. For one-off callbacks, click-to-call from the record feels more natural. The [which dialer quiz](https://skipcall.io/en/tools/which-dialer-quiz) helps decide.

**2. Do you take inbound calls?** If so, you need a business phone system (Aircall, CloudTalk, RingCentral, Quo, Allo), not just an outbound dialer.

**3. What do you want to see in Attio?** A readable note, or filterable data? Connected calls only, or unanswered attempts too? Ask for a screen share of an Attio record after a connected call and after an unanswered one. It is the test that separates vendors best, because integration pages all read the same.

If your team is still choosing the CRM itself, our [best CRM for SDRs](https://skipcall.io/en/blog/best-crm-for-sdrs) comparison covers the criteria that matter for an outbound team. We also compared phone options for [Pipedrive](https://skipcall.io/en/blog/best-pipedrive-phone-integrations), [HubSpot](https://skipcall.io/en/blog/best-hubspot-dialers) and [Salesforce](https://skipcall.io/en/blog/best-salesforce-dialers).

## What to remember

- Attio has no phone system. Call Intelligence records Zoom, Meet and Teams video meetings, not phone calls, and only on the Pro and Enterprise plans.
- Three routes exist: a Calling category app, Zapier, or the REST API. The first is enough for most teams.
- Apps vary widely: from just starting the call (RingCentral), to a note after connected calls (Aircall), to full sync with summary and transcript (CloudTalk, Quo, Allo).
- Check the shape of the data: a note can be read, an attribute can be filtered.
- Skipcall integrates natively with Attio without imposing structure and updates the person and the company, but calls start in Skipcall, not from the Attio record. Details are on our [Attio integration](https://skipcall.io/en/integrations/attio) page.

FAQ

## Frequently asked questions

**Does Attio have built-in calling?**

No. Attio cannot place or receive phone calls on its own. Its Call Intelligence feature records and transcribes video meetings on Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, and is part of the Pro plan ($79 per seat per month billed annually) and Enterprise. For phone calls you need a third-party app, Zapier or Attio's API.

**Which phone apps connect to Attio?**

The Calling category of Attio's marketplace lists more than thirty apps, but it mixes meeting recorders and phone systems. On the phone side you will find Aircall, RingCentral, Quo, CloudTalk, JustCall, Ringover and Allo, among others. Integration depth varies widely: some only start the call, others log the call, summary and transcript on the record.

**Does Attio's Aircall app log calls into Attio?**

It logs each call as a note on the person record, with date, time, duration and any notes taken in Aircall, a few minutes after the call and only if the call connected. The app page does not mention recordings or transcripts. Click-to-dial opens Aircall with the number pre-filled, and you start the call inside Aircall, on the desktop app only.

**Can I start a call from an Attio record with Skipcall?**

No. With Skipcall, calls start in Skipcall, not from the Attio record. An Attio list becomes a calling session in Skipcall, and each call is then written to Attio on the person and the company, with the outcome, recording, transcript and summary depending on what you chose to sync.

**Can I connect my phone system to Attio with Zapier?**

Yes. Zapier's Attio app includes actions such as Create Note, Create Activity and Create or Update Record. A phone system that can trigger a Zap when a call ends can create a note or an activity on the right record. Budget for Zapier's cost, setup time and maintenance whenever a field changes.

**What should a phone integration sync into Attio?**

At minimum, a dated call with duration and outcome, attached to the person and the company, which are the two objects present in every Attio workspace. Then the recording, transcript and summary. Finally, for the data to be useful, filterable attributes in your views: number of attempts, last outcome, date of last call.

**How much does Skipcall cost with Attio?**

The Attio integration is included from Skipcall's Business VoIP plan, from $25 per user per month billed annually, with no seat minimum. The power dialer and the parallel dialer with up to 4 lines come with the Starter plan, from $70.
