# Dialpad alternatives: 8 solutions compared (2026)

This page gathers what a decision maker needs before choosing: what each of the four Dialpad catalogues contains and at what price, which plan actually holds the dialler, what users say, where the data is hosted, and the method for working out whether a unified communications suite is useful to you.

The essentials

- Dialpad is an American vendor founded in 2011 in San Ramon, California. It sells four catalogues, billed separately: Connect for telephony, Support for the contact centre, Sell for sales, and AI Agents for autonomous agents.
- The dialler is not part of the telephony offer: it requires a Dialpad Sell licence, from $39 per licence per month on annual billing, against $15 for the Connect Standard plan.
- The campaign dialler, the one that places calls back to back and can assign several lines to a single agent, opens only on the Sell Premium plan, at $150 per licence per month.
- Dialpad scores 4.4 out of 5 on G2 and 4.0 out of 5 on Trustpilot. The criticism rarely targets the product and most often the support delays, the billing and the automatic renewal.
- Permanent data (contacts, call logs, recordings, transcriptions) is stored in the United States on Google Cloud, unless the account administrator has selected another region.
- Skipcall is not a suite: no video meetings, no team messaging, no inbound call routing. It is a business phone system built for sales teams, one tool for the whole company: from $25 for a single line and $70 with the four-line parallel dialler, hosted in the European Union.

## The 8 solutions at a glance

Dialpad is the only vendor in this panorama that sells a complete suite. The seven others are specialised tools, on telephony or on prospecting. It is that difference in nature, and not a difference in quality, that should guide the comparison.

Dialpad occupies the top left corner: an American platform that starts from telephony and also covers video meetings, internal messaging and the contact centre. On the right, the prospecting diallers: Nooks and Orum for the American market, Flunter in France. Between the two, the cloud phone systems, Aircall, Ringover and CloudTalk.

Skipcall spans telephony and prospecting, but it is not a suite. The same platform equips sales teams with the four-line parallel dialler, and the other staff who simply need an extension with one line from $25 per month. It does not offer video meetings, team messaging or inbound call routing: those uses stay with your current tools.

## Who Dialpad is

Dialpad is an American unified communications vendor, founded in 2011 by Craig Walker and Brian Peterson, with its head office in San Ramon, California. The company claims twelve offices around the world, from San Francisco to Tokyo by way of London, Bengaluru and Sydney. Its promise fits in one sentence: bring voice, video meetings, messaging and the contact centre together on a single platform, with AI on every conversation. This is not a fragile vendor: it is an established one, whose model differs from yours if what you want first is to get your sales reps connected more often.

## What each catalogue holds

This is the most misread part of the Dialpad grid: the four catalogues stack, they do not replace one another. A sales rep who wants a dialler needs a Sell licence, which does not remove the need for the company telephony licence. The prices below are those published by the vendor, per licence per month on annual billing.

Dialpad Connect

Business telephony, video meetings and team messaging

Standard $15, Pro $25 per licence per month on annual billing. Enterprise on request.

Dialler: No dialler

Dialpad Support

Contact centre: multiple channels, live coaching, analytics

Essentials $80, Advanced $115, Premium $150 per licence per month on annual billing.

Dialler: Campaign dialler reachable through a Sell Premium licence

Dialpad Sell

Prospecting and sales: in-call coaching, playbooks, CRM integrations

Essentials $39, Advanced $95, Premium $150 per licence per month on annual billing.

Dialler: Powerdialer from Essentials, campaign dialler on the Premium plan

Dialpad AI Agents

Autonomous voice and text agents, escalation to a human

On request, billed in credits consumed per conversation.

Dialler: Not applicable

Note the gap: between the entry telephony plan, at $15 per licence per month, and the plan that opens the automated campaign dialler, at $150, the price per person is multiplied by ten. That is the figure to compare, not the rate shown on the home page, if your need is outbound prospecting.

## What users say

Dialpad scores well on both leading review platforms. So the interest lies not in the average, but in what the negative reviews are about.

The score stays good but the distribution is polarised: 75% five-star reviews and 9% one-star. The latter rarely concern features and almost always the support delays, the billing and the subscription renewal.

Three quarters of the reviews are five-star, which reflects genuine product satisfaction. The remaining ninth, at one star, is almost entirely about the contractual relationship: that is the share to read before signing, not the average.

Support delays

This is the most frequent theme among the negative reviews found on Trustpilot: long waits and difficulty getting a quick resolution. Read it against the fact that round-the-clock phone support is open to Enterprise accounts only, Pro plans getting support 24 hours a day, five days a week.

Billing and renewal

Several reviews mention imposed annual commitments, automatic renewals despite a cancellation request, and a pricing grid judged hard to read. So the thing to check is not the product, but the anniversary date and the notice period written into your contract.

Call quality

Dropped calls and uneven audio quality come back in part of the reviews, including during the trial period. A sign that the experience depends heavily on each customer network, as with any voice over IP solution.

Scope discovered along the way

Several reviews report features understood differently from what was expected, SMS in particular, unavailable in some industries. On an offer split into four catalogues, the question to ask before signing is simple: which licence exactly contains the feature I need?

## Where the data is hosted

This is the point most often missing from comparisons, and the first one your legal department will raise. Call recordings and transcriptions contain personal data, sometimes sensitive data.

Dialpad

Google Cloud, United States

The vendor trust centre states that all permanent data (contact lists, call logs, recordings and transcriptions) is stored in the United States on Google Cloud Platform, with a daily backup. The privacy policy adds that this storage applies unless the account administrator has selected another region. Transient call data is kept for 72 hours at most. Dialpad is certified SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018.

Skipcall

Scaleway, France

Hosting is handled by a French cloud provider, which places the processing under the GDPR and European law, any transfer outside the EU being covered by the DPA.

## The real cost of entry

Two comparisons, because there are two different needs. Mixing them distorts the reasoning: the Dialpad telephony plan contains no dialler, and the catalogue that does contain one is billed separately.

## The French legal framework from 11 August 2026

This is the parameter most comparisons ignore, although it changes the economics of telephone prospecting in France.

French law of 30 June 2025

From 11 August 2026, cold calling consumers in France moves from opt-out to opt-in: a call is lawful only if the person has given prior consent. Bloctel, the French opt-out register, disappears on that date. Business to business prospecting remains possible, subject to the rules that apply to data processing.

The direct consequence for choosing a tool: the volume of permitted calls falls, so each attempt has to produce more. A dialler that screens out answering machines and puts your reps in conversation more often is no longer a comfort, it is what makes the channel profitable.

[Read the full analysis of the reform, in French →](https://skipcall.io/blog/demarchage-telephonique-interdit)

## What unified means in unified communications

A unified communications suite brings voice, video meetings, internal messaging and sometimes the contact centre together on a single platform. The promise is solid. The problem lies elsewhere: a company rarely uses more than half of it, while keeping in parallel the tools its teams have not given up. So it pays twice for the same use.

Here is the four-step method for measuring what the suite would really replace in your organisation. It is useful whatever your conclusion, including if you choose Dialpad in the end.

1

Step 01

Take stock of what your teams already use

- List the six everyday uses: outbound calls, inbound calls, video meetings, internal messaging, SMS, file sharing
- For each one, note the tool actually used and the number of people concerned, not the official tool
- Pull out the budget line of every subscription, with its renewal date

The trap. Starting from the list of software you pay for. Teams often use something other than what is billed, and it is that gap which distorts the whole rest of the calculation.

2

Step 02

Identify what the suite would really replace

- Sort every tool in the inventory into three columns: replaced, kept, duplicate
- Ask the teams concerned whether they would agree to drop the tool, internal messaging being the hardest to dislodge
- Check the integrations: a tool you keep that no longer connects to the suite becomes a silo again

The trap. Counting as replaced a tool nobody will give up. The video meetings in a suite rarely displace the ones already built into habits.

3

Step 03

Measure the cost of the duplication over twelve months

- For each scenario, add up the price per licence multiplied by the real number of people concerned, over twelve months
- Add the licences the suite forces you to stack: at Dialpad, telephony at $15 and the dialler from $39 are two separate catalogues
- Add the subscriptions kept in duplicate, which will go on being billed after the switch

The trap. Comparing one entry price with another entry price. A suite is judged on the cost of the scope actually used, not on the rate of its cheapest plan.

4

Step 04

Decide between a single suite and connected specialised tools

- Choose the suite if more than half the uses listed in step 01 really move into it
- Choose specialised tools connected through their integrations if a single use carries most of the value, outbound prospecting for example
- In both cases, check that the CRM stays the point where call data converges

The trap. Choosing the suite to have a single invoice. One invoice does not cut the spend if half the scope goes unused.

Before you decide

The 5 questions that tell you whether you need a suite or a tool

Answered in writing, with figures, they settle in one meeting what a run of demos leaves open for months.

1. 01 How many of the six listed uses would really be dropped in favour of the suite?
2. 02 Which use carries most of the value for your company, and is the suite the best on that one?
3. 03 How many separate licences do you have to stack to cover your scope, and at what combined price per person?
4. 04 Which subscriptions will go on being paid after the switch, and for how many months?
5. 05 If you leave the suite in two years, how many tools will you have to replace at the same time?

Our position is clear, and it is a choice: Skipcall is a specialised tool, not a suite. We offer no video meetings, no team messaging and no inbound call routing. If your answers to the five questions point to a suite, Dialpad is a serious candidate. If they point to one dominant use and that use is outbound prospecting, a tool built for that alone, connected to your CRM, will do the job better and for less.

## What to check before switching

01

The exact scope of your licences

At Dialpad, telephony, the contact centre and sales are three separate catalogues. Go licence by licence and record who holds what: this is often the moment you discover Sell licences paid for people who no longer call, or the reverse.

02

What leaving a suite takes with it

Leaving a suite does not touch voice alone. Video meetings, internal messaging and scheduled meetings go with it. List those uses and decide, for each one, whether it goes back to a tool already in place or needs a replacement before the switch.

03

Notice period, renewal date and number portability

Record the contract anniversary date and the applicable notice period before you start anything: that is what sets your switching window. Your numbers belong to you and can be ported from one operator to another, but the process has to be opened before termination, never after.

04

Exporting recordings and transcriptions

The transcriptions and summaries generated across your calls hold value for your teams and for your CRM. Ask for the export while the account is still active, and check the format you get before you cut anything off.

## What do you really need?

Three needs, three families of tools. Most bad choices come from confusing the first with the second.

What do you need?

Outbound prospecting in France

Specialised dialler

Skipcall · Flunter

Voice, video and messaging together

Unified communications suite

Dialpad

Inbound calls and a phone system

Cloud telephony

Aircall · Ringover · CloudTalk

Dialpad belongs to the second family and covers part of the third. Asking it to be a prospecting dialler first means buying a whole platform for a use that sits behind an extra licence.

## Who each solution suits

Dialpad remains the right choice if

- you want a single platform for voice, video meetings and internal messaging
- you run a contact centre and handle inbound calls at volume
- hosting your data in the United States is acceptable to your organisation
- your teams are international and work in English day to day

An alternative makes sense if

- outbound prospecting is your main subject and dialling time is becoming the limiting factor
- you do not want to stack a telephony licence and a sales licence to get a dialler
- hosting your data in Europe is a requirement from your legal department
- you would use less than half the scope of a suite

Key difference

## One plan per person, not one licence for the whole team

In a team of ten, needs are not the same. An SDR placing hundreds of calls a day, an account executive placing a handful and a head of sales who mainly needs a business line have no business being on the same plan. The usual market model still has all ten taking the same licence.

Everyone on their own plan, on one account

An SDR on the Expert plan, an account executive on Starter, a founder on the Business VoIP line. The plan follows the person's usage rather than the team average, and it changes without changing account: the number, the call history and the contacts stay.

Everything in one interface

Many parallel diallers plug into a telephony provider you contract separately: two tools, two invoices, two support desks. Here the line, the dialler, the contacts and the sequences sit in the same tool.

From one licence, with no tier imposed

No minimum of three, six or nine licences to reach the right offering. One invoice for the company, itemised user by user.

Worth checking with Dialpad: whether each team member can sit on a different plan, or whether the licence you choose applies to everyone. [Multi-plan in detail](https://skipcall.io/en/features/multi-plan).

## Frequently asked questions

**What is the best Dialpad alternative in 2026? +**

There is no single answer: the right choice depends on what you are actually replacing. If you use the whole suite (voice, video meetings, internal messaging, contact centre), the alternatives sit among the other unified communications suites. If your subject is outbound prospecting, the deciding criterion becomes the dialling mode: a tool that dials several lines in parallel and screens out answering machines automatically puts reps in conversation more often, for the same call volume. On that ground, the main alternatives are Aircall, Ringover and CloudTalk on the telephony side, Nooks and Orum on the American parallel dialler side, Skipcall and Flunter on the French prospecting side.

**Which Dialpad plan includes the dialler? +**

Not the telephony offer. The Dialpad Powerdialer requires a Dialpad Sell licence, billed from $39 per licence per month on annual billing, whereas the Connect Standard telephony plan is $15. The campaign dialler, which places calls back to back, requires a Sell Premium licence at $150 per licence per month, plus a configured contact centre. In other words, between the entry telephony plan and the automated dialler, the price per licence is multiplied by ten.

**Does Dialpad have a parallel dialler? +**

Not in that form. The Dialpad Powerdialer calls numbers one after another and still requires a Sell licence. The Dialpad campaign dialler, open on the Sell Premium plan, is described in the vendor documentation as a progressive dialler able to assign several lines to a single agent, but it assumes a contact centre and the most expensive plan in the Sell catalogue. No Dialpad telephony plan gives access to parallel dialling.

**How much does Dialpad really cost? +**

It depends entirely on the catalogue you pick, because the offers stack instead of replacing each other. Connect telephony is $15 per licence per month on annual billing on the Standard plan, $27 on monthly billing, and $25 on annual billing on the Pro plan. The Sell catalogue starts at $39 on annual billing and rises to $150 on the Premium plan. The Support catalogue runs from $80 to $150 on annual billing. The autonomous AI Agents are billed on request, in credits consumed. The vendor FAQ also mentions per-minute billing on contact centre calls, from $0.01 inbound and $0.02 outbound in the United States.

**Where is Dialpad customer data hosted? +**

In the United States, on Google Cloud Platform. The Dialpad trust centre states that all permanent data, contact lists, call logs, recordings and transcriptions, is stored there and backed up daily. The privacy policy adds that this storage applies unless the account administrator has selected another region. Transient call data is kept for 72 hours at most. Dialpad is certified SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018, and offers a data processing agreement under the GDPR.

**Is Dialpad suited to outbound cold calling? +**

It answers the need, but at the price of an extra licence and sequential dialling on the entry plan. For a team whose main activity is prospecting, two points weigh: the dialler is not in the telephony offer, and you have to reach the Sell Premium plan at $150 per licence per month to get an automated campaign dialler. Without systematic answering machine screening or parallel dialling on the entry plans, the share of a session actually spent in conversation stays low.

**What are the French alternatives to Dialpad? +**

Ringover and Skipcall are the two main alternatives published in France. Ringover sits on business telephony, with a scope close to that of Dialpad Connect. Skipcall focuses on outbound prospecting, with a four-line parallel dialler, an AI that screens out answering machines, and data hosted at Scaleway, in France. Neither of them replaces the video meetings or the team messaging of a suite.

**Do you need a unified communications suite or a specialised tool? +**

The answer comes down to a single measure: how many uses the suite would really replace. If more than half of your communication uses (outbound calls, inbound calls, video meetings, internal messaging, SMS) genuinely move into the suite, it is justified. If a single use carries most of the value, outbound prospecting for example, a specialised tool connected to the CRM costs less and does that precise job better. The classic trap is paying for a broad scope of which teams use only a fraction, while keeping their existing tools in duplicate.

**Does Dialpad offer a free trial? +**

Yes. The vendor FAQ mentions a 14-day trial for new users. Pro plans are available on monthly as well as annual billing, while Enterprise accounts are offered on annual billing only. Check that point before signing: it is the commitment period, more than the advertised price, that determines your room for manoeuvre in the following months.

**Can you keep your numbers when leaving Dialpad? +**

Yes. Numbers can be ported from one operator to another. Ask your current provider for the details needed for portability and open the process before you terminate, so as to avoid any interruption of service. A number released before portability completes can be lost for good.

**How long does switching tools take? +**

Going live is a matter of hours: importing contacts, connecting the CRM, running the first call sequence. It is the contractual notice period, the number portability lead time and, in the case of a suite, the replacement of the side uses (video meetings, internal messaging) that set the real timetable, not the technical part.
